“What a lovely home! Well equipped kitchen made it easy for us to prepare our own meals. The fire pit was a great spot to hang out in the evening. It was great to have hiking and the river nearby.”

“I have had the privilege of staying at this location twice. BOTH times it was an over-the-top experience. From the accomodations, to the ambiance to the dining it was a top-notch experience. The Innkeepers are empathic, caring individuals who anticipated our needs and made us feel like royalty. The area is rife with antique-shops, mentionable dining and the opportunity to learn more about our Central PA neighbors, the Amish and Mennonite enclaves. If you ever find yourself near Lancaster, take a bit of a drive northwest and have a stay. You will NOT be disappointed; $$$$-service for $$-expenditure.”

“My wife and I have been staying at the Amethyst the same weekend just about every year for the last 8 to 9 years and this B&B is second to none in every category! From the cozy rooms, that all come equipped with an oversized jacuzzi, to the charming decor and the absolutely delicious breakfasts that are all homemade from scratch fresh every morning, your stay here is guaranteed to be memorable! The Innkeepers, Jackson and Allie are super friendly and very accommodating to all your needs. It's obvious to us that their main goal is to give you a truly exceptional stay! Jackson, thanks so much for making our weekend getaway just as memorable as all the of our stays at the Amethyst! We'll see you again next year! Thanks again! Rick & Karla”

“Ron and Pat were amazing hosts! This was our first of many stays at Osceola Mill House. Everything was clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing every morning. It wasn’t just breakfast, really, it was a full on three course meal as well as freshly baked Irish soda bread. The house and grounds are beautiful! We had an extra special surprise with snow which made it all even more magical. The bedside fire crackling was a magnificent treat. Overall we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you Ron and Pat for your grace and kindness.”

“Grew up going to this place! A family tradition of ours for over 20 years, and now my kids enjoy it! Simple by all means, but always a wonderful, fun, and memorable time! My children enjoy their time at camp year after year! Don’t listen to the haters on here, the place is great, and they have a proven track record for over 2 decades!”

“My stay at the Woodlands Inn was absolutely amazing! Food was superb, our night at club evolution was super fun, the room was clean and orderly. We had the Winter package and it was nothing but extraordinary and made our weekend extra special! The only complaint that I had was that we were given the late check out and we were still woken up to one of the housekeepers banging at the door asking what time we check out. I believe they should of had a list of when the late check outs were so they wouldn’t be disturbed. Like I said other than that i completely enjoyed my stay and can’t wait to stay again.”

“Stayed 2 nights from a Saturday to a Monday. Prices were very reasonable with the AAA rate. The room was clean and smelled new upon entering. It is a tiny room but we weren't planning on doing aerobics! It fitted our needs perfectly. Parking is plentiful. Staff was cordial. However, We requested, and was granted, late check out for noon. By 11:30 am we had two people banging on our door like police at two separate times asking when we were going to leave. Not cool Red Roof!”

“Staff was polite and accommodating. Facility appeared to have been renovated like many other Holiday Inns, but you could tell it was an old building. Room was very small and clostrofobic. I will consider a different location next time I'm in the area.”

“The course itself is a nice layout. Challenging and enjoyable. Nice scenery. This course needs someone consistently going around and maintaining pace of play. I called about 45 minutes ahead of time and asked if there was a spot for a single to go off around 1030 and was told yeah I can get you out, should be fine. I get it, a tee time in advance would have been better. So I pull up to the first tee, passing the putting green. I get this look from a couple of guys at the putting green like I'm doing something unbelievable. I'm pretty simple when I go to play by myself. I don't fool around, I don't spend 15 minutes searching for a golf ball. So I arrive at the first tee. There's a foursome approaching the green. Fine, they probably had a tee time. So I wait until they get on the green until I tee off. I reach my tee shot as they are finishing up on the green. I figure okay get the first hole out of the way, maybe they see me and I can just tee off on 2 and then go on my way. I finish on the first, pull up to the second tee, nope they have started playing the second hole. By the time I got to the fifth I was starting to get pretty pissed. Most of you will agree that if you wait excessively in between holes it throws off your rhythm and then you screw up and so on and so forth. Put this into perspective for you, I can usually complete 18 holes by myself in about 2 hours or so. I teed off on one at 1020, after I finished hole 7 at 1220 I decided to leave. Every time I play this course, most other golfers playing here just have no consideration for pace of play or anyone else. I don't care who you are, I spent the same amount of money to play the course, have a little common sense and courtesy, especially if I have to sit on a tee box 15 minutes while you are searching for golf balls that you have no hope of finding. I just hate paying the money to play here and not be able to enjoy it because of the other golfers being inconsiderate and acting like they are superior to anyone else on the golf course. It's a shame, the course is beautiful and when they maintain it (in their defense it has rained a lot lately, probably no opportunity to keep up with it) this course is probably the best quality in the Hagerstown vicinity. But I have played this course multiple times and it's always an issue. So, I just have to find somewhere else to play. If you don't mind waiting for other people for an excessive amount of time and don't care to play through, by all means, go enjoy this course.”

“A great place for Snow Tubing, Skiing and Snow Boarding. They have all levels of trails for skiing and snowboarding. Also there is a cafe to fill your tummy. Snow tubing is a fun activity if you are with children. They have over 10 tracks for Snow tubing. All well maintained. $31 for Snow Tubing on weekends for 2 hours. A great resort with all the amenities. Staff is very helpful. They will make your trip more fun. The ride to the resort is quite scenic. Small mountains and plains full of snow when you go in winter.”

“No problems. Adiquite amenities. Clean. Decent wall thickness. Ample parking. Select breakfast options but its complimentary so I'm not complaining. Had to toggle AC and Heater to maintain decent temperature but whatever, not a big deal. Surrounding town is cute.”

“This five star review is about the room and the experience. Look, a B&B might not be your thing. So don't stay here. I enjoyed my Africa room thoroughly. More so, I enjoyed chatting with the inn keeper, petting her dog and the easy walk about I had in the downtown. Such a great tradition is this B&B. Try it out!”
