Mill Creek Falls (York Co.) Trail

Address: River Rd, Airville, PA 17302, USA

Park

“This is an absolutely beautiful place to walk and hike. We went the day after a snow with our two dogs, and really enjoyed the scenery. There are numerous paths to choose from, and they were easy to follow. Some trails were a little narrow or had steep drop offs to one side, so exercise caution if you have a pup that pulls too much or small kids. We couldn't do parts of the trails because it was slick and our pup isn't fully trained at 8 months old. Had we been alone, the trails would have been fine. Scenery includes lovely ruins of buildings, canals, and stone walls with ivy and moss growing on them, many small streams with cascading falls, a lovely view of the river with stony islands in the middle, and woods. There are also picnic areas available, though the parking lot adjacent to it is closed in the winter. You can still park further down and walk though. Some areas have a lot of garbage that has washed ashore during the flooding this season as well. Parking and admittance is free. Overall, a beautiful spot to visit.”

Lock 12 Recreational Area

Address: 699-645 River Rd, Airville, PA 17302, USA

“The trails around here are pretty nice along the river. This area is a large park that’s not on google maps, and the Mason-Dixon trail that runs along the river from the Chesapeake Bay all the way up to Harrisburg isn’t on google maps either. Definitely check out the park maps.”

The Milford Knob

Address: Milford, PA 18337, USA

Park

“The Milford Knob is the northern terminus of the Cliff Trail near Milford, PA. The Knob affords a great view of the town of Milford and the surrounding area. Gray Towers can be spied with a little effort and the route 206 bridge into NJ is easily visible. The initial ascent up to the Cliff Trail from Raymondskill is daunting, but once up, the trail is relatively easy. Accessing the trail from Milford road is another option, one that avoids that initial climb.”

“This is a professional climbing area, contact local climbing organization. However, also very nice to visit. Stay right on trail to hike to lower part of climbing cliffs. Great views, much wildlife and bold stream as you continue on trail. There is also a cabin that is rented ( I believe by Penn. DNR) there. Great hiking on AT and up to Chimney Rock overlook. For find Chimney Rock on a AT map of south Pennsylvania.”
