Interstellar BBQ

This place is phenomenal and absolutely earns the title of the second best BBQ in Texas according to Texas Monthly. Their scalloped potatoes and smoked pimento cheese are otherworldly. The chopped brisket melts in your mouth. Once I had a daily special that was brisket tostadas and it was one of the best things I've ever tasted. They are so creative with their sides. This is one of the most unique, exquisite barbecue experiences you can have in Austin!

I am not from Texas. Since I arrived in Austin my mission has been to try as much BBQ joints as possible, and I have tried many...however I will stop looking and just stick to Interstellar BBQ. Absolutely everything is amazing. Service, taste, price, delicious and original sides... their pork belly and scalloped potatoes are amazing.

Yes sir - this is most definitely the apotheosis of Central Texas BBQ. Based upon my visit, Interstellar truly deserves their 2021Texas Monthly #2 rating. The brisket was just about perfect: moist without falling apart, smokey but not dry, great bark, not fatty at all. Everything I tasted was great (pork belly, ribs) and the generous sides were creative and delicious. The ambiance is nothing fancy, but it's comfortable, very clean, and convenient. Looking for Franklin's quality without the line? Check out Interstellar, you will not be disappointed.

It was worth the hype. 90 min wait on a Sunday.

Got the brisket, pork belly, and sausage links. Everything was remarkable except the links. Wish the jalapeno ones didn't sell out.

Mac and cheese was incredible. Jalapeno coleslaw was good although too spicy for some people.

I had Truth BBQ in Houston as my favorite, but Interstellar is in the mix as well.

First time visiting this place and I loved my experience. The food was delicious and the guys behind the counter were so kind. We enjoyed lunch on the front patio and even had a kind gentleman come ask if we needed anything. Highly recommend! Our wait time was only 20 minutes.
