We had a big group and it was easy to navigate the museum and for a prime Saturday it felt still as though the flow was well done! “Beautiful historic location. The plantation house is gorgeous and so peaceful. We only did the self guided tour but definitely plan on doing the guided tour one day. There is a fee to get in but it is reasonable and totally worth it, even if you only visit once. They also put on events throughout the year during certain holidays. Watch out for mosquitos when you go because this last year was pretty bad and it was hard to enjoy walking the property with all of the mosquitos eating us up. So definitely bring lots of bug spray for your visit!”

Treefrog Trailhead, Trinity River National Wildlife Refuge

Address: 1620 Cypress St, Liberty, TX 77575, USA

Museum

“To find this trailhead, go to the end of Cypress Street, get on the levee, and go south on the levee about 30 yards. The markers to enter will be on the west side of the levee at the right of way. Follow the orange markers and stay on the south side of the pipeline right-of-way. Follow the orange marks in the trees along the tree line until you get to the bayou with the bridge. If you go right at any point and see deer stands or picnic benches, you are now on private property and trespassing. As long and you follow the orange marks, you are on the trail. Tree Frog Trail ends after about 1/4 mile and meets up with the Boggy Boots Loop, another trail marked by orange marks in the trees. There are 5 miles of trails back in there, enjoy! Oh, and there are a lot of scenic areas too!”
