“A good quick stop to learn some Texas history. Wife and I only spent about 15 minutes there and didn't check out the visitor center. It was a good time though. The grounds were peaceful and the statue is pretty good sized! There was a cute bird nesting I the gravel very close to where people drive/walk...hopefully her chicks survive! There were 3-4 little eggs until her tail and she fluffed up a bit when I absentmindedly wandered to close. Anyway, fun monument to visit!”

“Huge park with plenty to explore, great trails for walking and observing nature.”
Address: Fairport Road, Dallas, TX 75217, USA
“If you're into nature and wildlife this is a wonderful trail to take. Although you will have to walk the entire way... Its very refreshing. Because the grass is high in certain areas I recommend wearing long pants and long sleeve shirts along with closed toe shoes... Preferably rain boots to keep your feet dry and the high grass from being in your shoes.”

“You can walk on raised structures or hike along the Trinity River at this beautiful retreat. The trails were clearly marked and well maintained and although we were warned about the possibility of snakes, we didn't see any although we saw and heard lots of birds. Best to get there early or in the afternoon because it was hot on the June afternoon we visited. I would also bring some insect spray since the many water areas attracted mosquitoes. Parking was free but there was an admission charge.”

“This was a nice little find during one of our off trek excursions. The lake was beautiful but my favorite feature was being able to see the runway at Love Field. I could have sat at this park and watched planes take off and land all day. The breeze off the water was cool and there weren't mosquitos buzzing around at all. It was relatively clean and boasted a hiking/biking trail. Definitely a nice little place for an afternoon picnic.”
