Park

Park

“This park is very nice! If you haven't been here in the past few years, it's a great time to visit it again, as it has been completely renovated. New sidewalks, bridges, picnic areas, and good lighting for night visits. All that's missing is the pool...oh, wait, they're building that, too! Once it's all done, it should give westsiders something to be proud of! Until the less reputable move in and f*** it all up, so go see the place before that happens.”

Japanese Tea Garden

Address: 200-414 Alpine, San Antonio, TX 78212, USA

Park

“This is clearly in the top 10 places to visit in San Antonio. It's flat out beautiful and perfect for photos. The other part is it's free! I was shock there's no entry fee. They do make it up with sales at the little shop but don't mind spending a few bucks after the experience. What's mind blowing is people have lived here their entire lives and never knew about this amazing place.”

“I've been teaching fly fishing here since 2012 and love the combination of tall shady trees and wide open spaces to teach my students but get some protection from the heat of the sun. The San Antonio River flows through here and you can do some fishing here. There is roomy for parties, a little bit of football or volleyball and you have BBQ pits and picnic benches around the park. A nice addition for the public that keeps the concept of open access available to everyone.”

Autry Park

“I'm giving it 5 stars circumstantially. It's not like it's overflowing with amenities, yet it does what a park sets out to do: provides rest and tranquility. I was trying to explore potential shortcuts between the places I had to go and I was carrying heavy groceries and trying to get to a particular bus stop, and I was hungry and low on energy. It was amazingly perfect I had this place to sit and rest on a bench. No one was out there, so I had the park to myself. When I got up to leave, to my relief there sure was an open part to the fence along the street, an actual modest entrance. If inquiring minds want to know, there are no shortcuts to my route; however this place afforded me the respite I needed from the toasty, tired journey.”

The manager Brenda was the most helpful and a gentleman that helps maintain the place as well. So friendly! The people there go out of their way to make it a safe, clean, enjoyable environment! I recommend to anyone in need of the best place to stay!”
