“We went swimming today at Roanoke’s swimming area. First day it opened. So wonderful. So spacious. Great lifeguards. I don’t have young children but my niece does and my sister’s grandkids loved the place. We shall return. Great for families.”

“I had a great time playing Roy G for the first time! Heard great things about the course and I was not disappointed at all. The teepads are all nice and good signs as well with big cut stones for benches at every single teepad. This is a monster of a course and requires big shots and tight shots of all directions. I wouldn't advise this course for beginners unless you don't mind throwing +40. *I went with a few local friends and there are a lot of homeless people on holes 16, 17, and 18, but it didn't make the course any less enjoyable. Hopefully the city can get that situation taken care of soon as that did cause there to be a lot of trash along those 3 holes.”

“Arcadia Trail Park is gra for runner, walkers, soccer, basketball players, tennis 🎾 players, Frisby Players or just bring the kids to play. The Trail extension is vast, practice safety habits! I enjoy walking and as a result lost over 50 lbs walking my first 2 years. Now Grammy's target is 4miles a day! Y”

“We’ve been here three times and have had a great experience each time! So much information, so many animals and even hands on experiences! It wasn’t until this last visit in May 2022 that I learned you can access this area for free through a separate entrance. How cool is that?!! Both times my kiddos enjoyed petting and brushing the goats! They are very friendly and safe around even small kids in our experiences there. You can also meet Hamlet the pig, a beautiful emu or two, turtles, birds and more! The area is absolutely beautiful! The walls inside and out line lots of interesting facts about the animals you see there. Tons of great photo opportunities! There is a Dino track outside the entrance that you just check out and a nature trail to the side where we ran into a few wild lizards. This area is right next to Fossil Rim’s gift shop which has an expansive array of items and very clean bathrooms. Off even further is their cafe I haven’t had a chance to eat at yet but hope to do so in the future.”

“Nice quiet location. Clean beach. The gift shop is small but there was a nice selection of postcards and magnets. The people working in the shop were extremely friendly and had helpful information for us. The seagulls on the beach appeared to be more cautious around people than at other local locations. The young man in the booth at the entrance was always very personable! Nice group of employees overall.”

“The guided tour provided so many details of the family history, along with the early days of the city. They were very patient with our grandchildren, and answered ALL of their questions (and questions my husband and I had). In addition to touring the main house, which is beautiful, we walked the property on a nature trail which had so many other structures (old barn, chicken coupes, stables, a log cabin, etc.). They also showed the kids some things that the kids in that time would have done, including teaching them how to play jacks. The kids loved it! It was a great experience for all of us, and I highly recommend it!”

“I fell in love with this church a few years ago!!! There is so much diversity and inclusion here!!! It is so rare to see every walk of life from the very rich to the homeless sitting side by side in harmony showing each other respect and love!!! This is the healthiest church I've ever seen!!!! Thank you Pastor Rodney for all of your help, patience, and guidance!!!!”

“Took my dog for a quick walk. Park is next door to an elementary school, has a playground, basketball and tennis courts, covered picnic area with a grill. Also next to a small rec center (?). Has a very nice, well kept walking park and an adult community center. Located in a residential area, this park is convenient for all age groups.”

“Great park to walk around, good vantage point on the dam to watch the sunset. Only downside is the trail width in some areas (more for biking but doesn't allow room for pedestrians as well)”

“I am so impressed with this park. I have seen it since moving to Allen and just never thought much about it being so close to the road, but my wife was telling me about it the other day as she took our daughter and they saw a ton of turtles. Since the weather was so nice we opt to go to this park, brining some chopped carrots to feed to turtles and off we went. I was absolutely floored how cool this park is. My daughter loves going to parks (honestly just being outside), and when we go to parks she has fun, but majority of the time she plays for a few minutes but wants to walk around and explore. She has fun on the playground but rather look around. This park she didn't want to stop playing with everything. There is so much for small kids and bigger alike. There is a lot of sensory items, such as drums, bongos, loud flutes, fans, swings, slides, and a merry-go-round like devices that both me and my wife had to do lol. Personally, i really enjoyed playing with the pipes. She enjoyed climbing, jumping, and doing so much more. It was really awesome seeing her go! If you get bored with that it is a short walk over to the pond that was teeming with turtles that my daughter just loved. We counted 20 or so floating aroudn and there appears to be three different types we could identify (wish I took a picture of them). We cut up some carrot slices and fed them, which made her giddy. There is a nice covered patio with lots of chairs to sit and eat, while enjoying the atmosphere. This is honestly one of the best parks I have been to in Allen, and will continue to visit!”

“Our trip was wonderful and Herb made it above and beyond!! His hospitality and extra efforts to make our visit ideal were so appreciated. They had our lights, heater on in our cabin upon arrival and the hot tub was fantastic! We used all the outdoor cooking setups and fire pit during our stay. Highly recommend this KOA and all the cleanliness, excellent guest service will bring us back to visit.”

“My son's daycare went to the corn maze for his first field trip ever. The kids really enjoyed going through the part of the maze designed for younger children with a fairytale that developed along the way. After that the kids got to go ride around in one of those train things pulled by a tractor and there are little cars made from those metal barrels where each car holds 2 children. Then we got to sit on a trailer and ride with our children pulled by a tractor on a hay ride to an area where pumpkins were grown and each child got to pick their own pumpkin to keep and they give you the option to buy more. Finally, the kids got to sit in an area with lots of tables and decorations for a nice picnic meal! We had a wonderful time!”

“I recently visited this park and was impressed with its newness and well-maintained facilities. The two baseball fields available for rent were in excellent condition and added to the overall appeal of the park. Additionally, the open soccer field was perfect for casual games with friends or family. One highlight of the park was the trail, which was a little over a mile long and offered a bit of a challenge in some areas. While it may not be suitable for elderly individuals or those with certain disabilities, the trail was a great way to enjoy the natural beauty of the park and get some exercise. The children's play area was small but nice, providing a safe and enjoyable space for kids to play. Although the park is still under development, the existing amenities make it a great place to visit and spend time with loved ones. Overall, I would definitely recommend this park to anyone looking for a fun and active day outdoors. With its beautiful baseball fields, soccer field, and challenging trail, there's something for everyone to enjoy.”

“It was beautiful downtown and very clean, but lots of homeless people which takes away from being excited for the holidays a lil. Lots of family down there but I saw no police which was strange with this being a major downtown city”
