“Kind of unsettled by recent volcanic activity, but it's a nice walk. Can see deer in the morning. Haven't yet spotted a gator, though i have heard they're around. Would recommend bug spray, especially in the summer. Sometimes there are people doing yoga on the docks.”

“Good walk, with plenty of variety. The bayou is a bayou, of course, but this walk takes you right down to the museum district. Peaceful, well-kept.”

“My wife and I went bicycling from Bayou Parkland and rode accross the bridge into Hermann Park. Bayou Parkland was a convenient place to park for access to the trails and the restroom there was clean. I can't say if it was typical but at least on this day there was plenty of parking. I was a little bit concerned about security because there was a person sitting in his car that wasn't going anywhere. I did not see any security cameras. After circling the park we rode along the bayou for a few miles then back. It was a beautiful sunny day and overall the trails were in pretty good shape. the trails could have been been maintained better but they weren't bad. As we got farther away from Bayou Parkland, the trail system had more grade crossings than I was used to on the trails around San Antonio.”

“Beautiful example of the original natural environment. The reverence of nature makes a pleasant setting for the community cementary of early settlers of new Republic of Texas. This park is normally closed to the public and is only available for specific special events such as Boy Scouts.”

“I love taking my dog to this park because it’s spacious, clean, and well cared for. Both the little dog side and large dog side have a water front for the pups to play in. Bathroom facilities are always clean, even though they are your typical stainless steel amenities in a brick building like in most parks. The walking trail around the pond is wide enough for like 4 people to walk across comfortably, and there’s exercise benches with instructions along the way. Always plenty of parking on both sides of the pond as well. And there’s a kids playground on the opposite side of the pond from the dog park.”

“Very good place to go for a long walk run or bike. Beautiful trees everywhere. The downside is there’s typically lots of standing water after a hard rain and the trail is not very wide which makes it difficult for bikers when there’s a lot of pedestrians. Great views and shaded areas, and a lot of times you can see wildlife especially at the bridge area such as water birds or small alligators swimming around.”

“Easily our favorite park to visit. The large walking trail is great for walking yourself while your fur baby gets all of their energy out. There are two large "lakes" on either side of the park and separate areas for large and small breed dogs. They have wash stations outside of the gates so you can spare the interior of your car, just don't forget to bring a towel!”
