“Super sad. There is no more jumping into the water for swimming at this greenbelt. The rains have helped but gone are the days of jumping off this bridge. Still worth the trail. Super green. Beautiful surroundings.”

“This Park is absolutely amazing! From a very artistic mural on the bathroom building to the futuristic playground. It also has the added benefit of having a covered area with picnic tables. My 3 year old grand daughter has some trouble with the playground being too advanced but I've seen some other adventurous 3 yr olds climbing on it like pros! 👍”

“One of the nicest RV parks we have stayed in. We live in Anchorage Alaska traveled the West coast to Texas. Pulled in after hours, called the phone # left message. Have never been called back so fast. Gave us a space # and said she'd see us tomorrow. Very nice concrete slaps with full hookups. Nice grass yards. Super low prices, very clean, you can see they care about their property on how well they maintain it. Will definitely be staying here next time I'm visiting my brother. Thank you for making our three days in enjoyable.”

“Nice little neighborhood spot. With some restaurants still closed we got our to do food and had a great spot to each and enjoy the weather!”

“Gorgeous nature trails and definitely a little spooky. The trails have been worn away so much by people going off the main trails that I got lost and had trouble finding my car but otherwise everything is just as it was visiting my whole life. Great photography location”

“Beautiful state park with many nice hiking trails at different levels. The park is dog friendly as long as they are on a leash and you pick up after your pet. Playgrounds are in good condition and fun for kids. Nice camping, picnic areas, and cabins. Helpful staff. Definitely a good place for a family visit or a solo hike”

“We’ve had a wonderful experience staying here! Nancy and Chase are such wonderful people, and they have been so helpful. The amenity center is absolutely gorgeous! The bathrooms are beautiful and clean (including an ADA bathroom and shower). The amenity center also has on-site laundry, vending machine, an on-site dog park, a package delivery box, and a homey “coffee shop” aesthetic communal area for visiting or to use the Wi-Fi. There’s also a wonderful stretch of fenced in synthetic turf off the back porch for kids to play and for families to gather! The view of the valley from the RV spot locations is spectacular! It’s in a perfect location (just a short drive to Denton and Gainesville), but is still nice and quiet as it’s tucked in the country. It has a wide concrete entrance without any obstructions making entering and exiting with an RV very easy. Time slows down here. It really is a little slice of Heaven.”

“Just love this dog park. I am only using the small dog area which is really large, shaded and with great maintenance. Only issues (and I am not sure there is a good solution) are the amount of skeeters. Great parking and super friendly patrons”

“Circle J was hosting one of the men's weekend event from June 30 to July 4. This was my first time not only there but at a gay retreat, and was of course "the new kid on the block," therefore a little unsure but Mitch & Craig and the other guys made me feel like a part of "the crowd" very quickly. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and this was "food for my soul." I look forward to my return the end of September. Double thumbs up. Just the right venue for me.”

“Nice little neighborhood park with a splash pad. The splash pad was great but the playground itself not so much. Older equipment that needs some maintenance. The playground seems to be mostly shaded in the evenings. There is a water fountain and pergola. The is also open field for team sports. The park is connected by trails for walking/biking. Parking can be tricky of the nearby school is open.”

“Been coming here every June for a while now and it's a great place to stay. I've stayed in the cabins which are great. I've pitched a tent there which was great especially having electricity at even site. Stayed with an RV and has full hook up. The owners and staff there are great! Very helpful and welcoming. We get shuttled upstream and arrive back at the camp site within 2 to 3 hours depending on the flow. Or you can start there or keep going from the upstream to lonestar and get shuttled back up. They make sure your safety is first and they confirm your party hasade it back. Definitely got to try them out!”

“I have never in my 69 years felt so welcome and wanted. These people are beyond awsome. The park mgr, Dennis, has gone way out of his way to help me get settled here. This place is very clean and quiet extremely pet friendly. It is filled with honest upright older people. Dennis has also made it a very safe and secure place to live. No drug labs, no loud blaring nasty music, no screaming and fighting either. The perfect place to live.”

“Part of the Port A Nature Preserve. We found this to be the best area to see a lot of water birds at a fairly close distance. Right next to the water treatment plant so didn’t like the smell but tolerable. Good signage to ID birds and nice walkways built over the water leading to covered observation towers. The trail continues several miles on if you want to go further to the South area. Every Wed, several local folks provide an interpretive bird walk…Ray was great pointing out birds and answering questions. Bring binoculars and a hat. Definitely go several times as you might see something different every time. We went in the fall when birds migrate, not sure how it is in summer.”
