“This is one cool place to take your dogs to run a little obstacle course. its diveded into an over 30 lbs and an under 30 lbs. area with water availableon both sides and a trashcan where one can disposeof poop. Its surrounded by a 6' fence and a small 3" fence divides both areas. You can watch him run from well placed benches on each side. “Primitive camping in Sam Houston National Forest. Easy access to fishing along West Fork of San Jacinto River just down road. No restrooms or trash cans, except during hunting season when it functions as a Hunter's Camp. Take your trash home and be respectful of other campers. The Lone Star Hiking Trail can be found across Stubblefield Lake Road at the Hiker Trail sign and is marked with white rectangular metal marker on trees. Please pick up your trash and take it with you. Volunteers who pick up litter would rather be doing wood-working projects like building benches, repairing kiosk, and building signs.”

“Love the new concrete path with solar lamps starting at the road and ending in the perfect spot for an overlook. I think the city(Grapevine??) did a fantastic job on the deck, it feels safe and private at the same time. I think they had to install cameras after the first solar lamps were vandalised. Great location with unbeatable views and only 7-10 min walk from the car! I hope more changes like this are coming!”

“My husband and I love camping at Loyd Park. We tent camp and can find shady campsites and a lot of them are secluded. That's important for us. We usually stay for about 7 days. We have a lot of camping gear so it takes us awhile to set up and take down. They have upgraded some bathrooms and they're really nice. Separate rooms not just stalls. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a store where you can buy things that you might have forgot and you can rent kayaks. You can bring your own firewood or buy theirs. The sites have a covered picnic table and firepit and usually a grill. Come stay here for camping or a day trip. You won't be disappointed.”

The ones right on the water captured my heart...”
