“Here is a unique venue with ‘National Park’ in its name, managed by the national park service, but holds “park” rather than true “national park” status for some reason. The first and only national park dedicated to the performing arts in collaboration with the Wolf Trap foundation. You can stop by when there are no shows for a look around. There are some nature trails on site, one main trail with varying condition, and sometimes poorly marked. There is a children’s theater stage in the forest, that should be a fantastic venue.”

“Nice multiuse park. Lot of flat hiking, walking, and running trails. There are ball fields fishing at the lake and more.”

“Yesterday, 20 August, at about 1545 hours at the park I saw a juvenile Coyote on the large football/soccer field, located to your right as you enter the park. This Coyote was not afraid of me and allowed me to get within 40 yards of him. Be aware of this as small dogs are a meal for a Coyote. I was with my Yellow Lab, who weighs 75 pounds, but the Coyote was not afraid of us. I called Animal Control to advise of this animal so close to where lots of folks and dogs get exercise.”

“Great acoustics and comfortable seating. Was very impressed. Make sure if it's raining that you wear appropriate footwear, lest you be walking through the mud in the parking lot. It is gravel and unpaved. Excellent venue.”

“They did a nice job with the family as we prepared to bury my sister. Very professional and helpful. ”

“Good sized place to run with decent textured medium in the ground. No isolation for small dogs, but owners are good about watching and separating dogs doing issues. Drinking water and bags available, and they have kiddie pools available in warmer weather. Watch belongings in your parked car. There have been occasional break ins.”

“This was included within our Mt. Vernon to and it was worth the trip. I was not expecting the mill to actually work. It was neat to see them operate the mill and see how fine the mill can get the corn meal.”

“Great park. Swings are too far from play structures, though. Problematic when visiting with multiple toddlers who want to do different things. Not great for school age kids.”

“This poor park needs some help. More like some TLC or a neighborhood group that will help out. Of course maybe Fairfax County would say no to help due to liability fears...so we all suffer because they are scared of getting sued....but i digress. I give it four stars to promote neighborhood parks generally. The sad part is the dedicated flag pole with no flag pole. It would be nice to have some trails through the woods. As it stands the neighboring houses have taken to making part of the park property part of their yards. The grass gets cut regularly, there are nets on the basketball hoops, and there is a porta-potty (i did not look inside). Parking on the street.”

“Wonderful Park for any Athletic Team. Soccer Field, Basketball Courts, Tennis Courts and Football Field. One of the Best Athletic Parks I've seen. I will visit again.”

“This review is specific to the dog park. The park is big enough, but not big. The base layer for the park is rock dust. The pros: small, but useful perimeter lights for the last bit of playtime before complete nightfall, dog wash station, with hose hooked up to running water, 2 poop bag stations which are typically stocked up. 6 benches around the park to sit. Plenty of tree cover for shade. 2 opposing entrances to the park. Cons: rock dust absorbs a lot of smells. On a busy day the smell of urine is sometimes overwhelming. Parking is limited. Small size of park. Overall, this dog park is the best with what it has to offer in Vienna.”

“Just your local tot lot. But on a foggy morning there will be a good view of the most enclosed meadow to the south with one lonely oak trying to make itself seen.”
