“Had an early dinner with my husband and daughter. Food was delicious. We were greeted and seated as soon as we walked in and our server (Denise) was at our table within a few minutes. “We spent our anniversary here and to say we were overwhelmingly pleased would be an understatement! Everyone was incredibly accommodating, executed on all of my requests to have champagne on ice ready upon arrival in the room and they put rose petals and chocolates and candles in our room while we were having dinner... the in-room massages were incredible and the bar/lounge area was a welcome surprise to give a more social feel to the place. The waiters and bartenders were so friendly and you could tell they were all about "the customer"... I will 100% stay here again and recommend to anyone looking for a great getaway, with great views, and a highly accommodating staff to do the same. Jonathan”

“Great find in northern Virginia. The space is charming, very inviting with a beautiful patio/garden, and a homey yet romantic feeling to it. The staff is very helpful and friendly. This was our first time, we had rice balls, lamb shoulder, rye ravioli, summer soup and red wine. What a treat. We’re definitely coming back!”

“The cashier was at least 70 and they get an extra star for hiring an older person. Now hopefully they are paying a living wage. I got the eggnormous burrito and hash browns. Both were good. A little slow on the meal prep but I can live with it. Lots of drive through traffic.”

“We had such a wonderful time at the Inn at Meander Plantation. These will be memories we’ll cherish for sure. We were greeted warmly by Eric and Mary and were given a tour of the building and the cottage we’d be staying in. It was a particularly hot weekend and the AC in our cottage (Robinson room) worked very well. The sheets were unbelievably comfortable and the breakfasts were delicious. We borrowed one of the crossword puzzle books and my wife spent part of an afternoon just relaxing and filling them out. We watched the sun go down both nights from the Adirondack chairs, which are shown in many of the Inn’s pictures. It’s even better in person. We did not have time to explore the 80 acres of property but we did enjoy Skyline drive Saturday and Sunday, which was about an hour away. We also did some hiking in the Shenandoah National Park. We had dinner in Culpeper both nights as well, which is about 20 minutes away. Pinto Thai and Pancho Villa were very good. Eric and Mary were also very attentive and even remembered little comments we made, like how I really like coffee but my wife can’t stand the smell right now. I’m sure we’ll be back and we’ll recommend the experience to our friends. Thanks again!”

“Whether you are looking for a night out, a weekend a way, or traveling a distance, Glen Gordon Manor and Houndstooth Restaurant is a destination you have to try. Chef Dayn Smith is incredible and his food is amazing. We did the wine pairings with our five course meal and it was superb. The chilled spring pea soup with orzo and crab meat was surprising and refreshing. We also had roasted tenderloin and braised short rib that was so tender. They paired amazing and both just melted in your mouth. But, my favorite was dessert, you should just go there to find out! The staff made the meal even more enjoyable, they were just amazing; incredibly sweet, attentive, and knowledgeable about the food. Houndstooth restaurants gives you the food of a high end restaurant, with a look of a high end restaurant, in a beautiful scenic place.”

“Our anniversary stay at Glen Gordon Manor was absolutely lovely. The extra hot (and delicious) coffee delivered to our room in the early morning was an especially nice touch and made for a enjoyable hour outside on the back deck drinking in the sounds of nature and watching the day evolve. Both dinner and breakfast were wonderful and tasty! The staff was courteous and pleasant. Everything was clean, tidy and charming. Comfort at it's finest!”
