“This is the drop-off point for shuttle buses coming from the Visitor Center. From here, the historic downtown is only a 5-minute walk. There are no restrooms here. The nearest one is next to the bookstore, one of the first buildings on view as soon as you enter the town.”

“Very cool natural rock formations that look like giant steps. Sweeping views from the WVA side seem like a place from another time. The name for the town here was originally to be called Shenandoah Falls, although the prominence of Robert Harper's Ferry later inspired the official town name. Since the floods swept most of the buildings away that were along the Hall and Virginius Islands, what stands here is a true American village. And yes, btw, for the grammarians visiting this geological wonder, the village name is officially Harpers Ferry sans-apostrophe. Please take your apostrophes with you.”

“Beautiful view of lower Town from the train station! It's a shame I wasn't able to stop in and check out the town because I really like old architecture and there was plenty of it, stretching from lowertown up the hill.”

“Nice spot to check out U.S. military history in a beautifully (and historically) preserved town. Learn how manufacturing occurred long, long ago.”

“Kind of a humbling experience thinking about John Brown and reading about him. This of course going to where he was and experiencing what was going through his mind around the raid of the fort just makes it very somber. Just trying to think about him and be in his shoes! He was definitely an extreme abolitionist and may have gone about it in the wrong way, but he is definitely worth looking up and studying!”

“There's not much to see or appreciate at first glance but the information boards really help fill the gap, allowing visitors to imagine the size and scope of the arsenal in its heyday. With enough funding, they may be able to commit to a faithful reconstruction of the arsenal, based on archaeological findings and historical archives.”

“If you are a history lover, this is a great place to visit. Also many quaint and unique shops and restaurants. Beautiful buildings and views as well. Only downside is parking is very limited or very far away.”

“Great wide open park with a Nine-Hole Golf Course, Eighteen-Hole Disc Golf Course, Jogging/Walking Trails, Baseball Fields, Softball Fields,Soccer Fields, Multi-Purpose Fields, 2 Covered Pavilions, and multiple Playground Areas. Sports fields are available when not being used or reserved by the Glade Valley Athletic Association. There are also garden plots for rent, and a historic manor house (Harris Farm) with outbuildings. The yard waste recycling and compost facilities are located near the water tower. Harris Farm is a historic home and farm complex located within the park. The main house was built in 1855, and is a three-story center plan house in predominantly late Greek Revival style, with some Italianate elements. The agricultural complex consists of a bank barn with an attached granary; a second frame barn that shares an animal yard with the bank barn; a row of frame outbuildings including a converted garage, a workshop, and a chicken house. There is also a drive-through double corn crib; and a frame pig pen from 1914. The 20th-century buildings consist of a frame poultry house, a dairy barn with milk house and two silos, and an octagonal chicken coop. A lime kiln is located on the edge of the property by the intersection of Glade Rd. and Devilbiss Bridge Rd. The Harris Farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.”
