Lake Lenwood Beach & Campground

Address: 7053 Lenwood Dr, West Bend, WI 53090, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“We are here for the summer working on a project in West Bend and we absolutely love our spot overlooking a pond. We have seen 25 different species of birds, been serenaded by frogs to sleep every night all in a quiet campground. Very clean and well maintained. This is not a party campground. They have rules like a lot of other places, just adhere to them its not difficult. The owners have have been very good and kind to us, even worked with us to get us in a little earlier than opening if we had to because of our job starting.”

“Beautiful Disc Golf course on a old 9 hole ball golf course, along with some decent basketball courts and great views of planes taking off from the small airport located across Hampton. The disc golf course was recently installed and will have concert pads and multiple pin poisoning. I can't wait to see what the future holds for this park!”

“Best "year-round" park in the City. Splash pad, accessible playground, hiking, and disc-golf in the summer. Sledding, ice-skating, XC-skiing, snow-shoeing in the winter. The north and north-west end of the park behind the softball and soccer fields are great for a quick hike or to catch a sunset.”

Parfrey's Glen State Natural Area

Address: 1377 County Rd DL, Merrimac, WI 53561, USA

Park

“A hidden gem in Baraboo. Easy, Moderate and Advanced hiking. Wear waterproof hikers or boots. Approx. 1 hour round trip. Mid-Sept visit, mid-morning. It was high 70s to low 80s, so the temp was tolerable since most of the hike is well shaded. We visited on a Sunday, which we find is best since the parking lot here is very small and there's less visitors that day. If you sleep in too late you'll end up parking along the ditch outside the park. We were fortunate to make this visit the day after a solid rain came through. There was good water flow down the creeks and small waterfalls could be spotted throughout the hike. It's about 20-25 minutes to hike all the way back to the largest fall. To get there you'll need to cross the creek several times by stepping on large stones and fallen tree limbs. To see the largest fall you'll need to climb several large boulders. I would recommend wearing tall hiking boots or something waterproof in case you slip a couple times.”

Wetmore Community Park

“Nice small but sprawling park. Trails kind of go in every direction, but there is one nice loop straight from the parking lot toward the water! Fairly short path is great for sunsets or strolls with the dog (dog park on site as well). Some fishing to be done in the area and some a decent variety of fungi while walking the trail as well!”
