“This park is family friendly. I love the fence and coded gate access for security. The kids love the popcorn, snack machine and swimming pool. We enjoy sitting in the many rocking chairs and looking out over the water. I like the big outdoor kitchens with TVs. There is plenty of cement to ride your bike on. And it is pet friendly as long as you don’t leave them unattended and clean up the mess. The management is awesome.”

“Our experience was wonderful. Their on site store is well stocked. If you don't feel like cooking the restaurant has an amazing menu. The food is delicious! The staff are friendly and very helpful. The campsites are well maintained. It's my favorite KOA.”

“Perfect site for an overnight camp of backpacking in the far East Bay. For those climbing Mount Diablo, this would be a good spot to over night before getting an early start.”

“Nice campground with a challenging 18 hole Disc Golf course. The course has a lot of ticks during the summer so wear bugspray!”

“All the counselors, CIT's, Wranglers, and fellow campers are so nice and friendly! I would honestly live at Camp Chippewa if I could. All the horses are taken excellent care of, and are easy to guide. The cabins are really nice, even air conditioned! There are also other activities such as archery, fishing, crafts, giant connect 4, Shiskaball, tetherball, Seleobox, a sand volleyball court, and a pool! I don't think I will ever leave.”

“3rd time camping here. Sites are a little tight, but we weren't bothered once by anyone, including rangers. If you need space for more than 1 tent, I suggest getting a site on the outer edge so you can go further into the woods, instead of being isolated to the small plots. The bath house is fair. Hot water, and space to get cleaned up. Dish washing sink on the outside was up and running too. Fire pit was good and allowed for some level grate cooking. We don't look for any amenities except land and isolation, so it was fine.”

“I’ve been there twice with a large group of people. The owner gave us a lot of wood needed for a campfire to last the whole night. I enjoyed the open grass area, volleyball court and the creek was beautiful. We were allowed to light up fireworks the whole night. There is poor cell phone reception,, don’t even think about staying connected,,so stay home bc that’s not camping. Going down river was a great experience. The staff was very informative and advised us of all safety precautions. Life jackets were available in all sizes. There are stores with Amenities and souvenirs just 2 min away. And there are a few restaurants in close proximity to your tasting. Looking to come back in near future.”

“We stopped here for the night as we were passing through on our way east. The host/owner was very kind and hospitable. Despite how busy she was, she was always ready to help us. There’s not much space for overnight camping since most spots are taken by long term camping. The bathroom needs to be updated. There was a lot of space for the kids to run around and play at the playground. There’s not much option near here for camping, but the owner/host makes the stay pleasant despite the outdated bathroom and amenities.”

“We rented the ranch cabin for a couple of nights and it was clean and comfortable! Our boys loved the bunk beds! Owners were so welcoming and helpful. You have to bring your own bedding, but sleeping bags worked for our boys on the bunk beds. Must Dos: Get ice cream from the Beach Bucket next door and bring bug spray for the campfire at night.”

“We love coming here! Most times we just come to visit the beach, but we have rented a cabin before and loved it. There is a section (to the left when facing the beach) that you can take dogs on (leashed), so that is quite nice too!”

“Great place for recreation rather it be swimming, fishing, camping, or for the thrill seeker. The woman and I went over the summer and had a blast. Pricing was fair and plenty to do on a nice warmer day. Bring something to float on if you want to spend more time relaxing on the water then treading it.”

“Great experience. Camp sites set apart from each other just enough. Well maintained with abundant wildlife and short drive to Estes Park. There are bear sightings in this area so be sure to keep a clean camp and store food in boxes provided. We had bear sign in our camp ground but no problems. Love this area!”
