“Big Beautiful campground that’s no longer maintained. Grass over grown weeds high and more. If you go during monsoon season you’ll be lucky to find the water flowing down the rocks onto the road. Nice place to make a few s’mores or cook a few hot dogs on one of the many grills. Just beware that the weeds are a lil high and grass to your ankles so go prepared. Overall it’s a good place to get in touch with nature while getting away from the city.”

“I enjoyed it. Few things: They have wooded areas as well as what I call the parking lot. We were in the "parking lot" we had space to pull everything out but we also were woken up a few times by the neighbors as they were out walking around in the gravel. The sites in the wooded area you must pay attention to the map when choosing sites. Some sites were only 30 amps, some sites shared water, etc etc. The tent sites all were on individual risers. There's piers you can fish. I saw 2 playgrounds There is a bigger playground at the marina which is next to the campground . Overall I will call There again. We paid $45 a night. No late night check in but we knew that in advance and planned accordingly.”

“My husband and I have been full-timers here for the last 2+ years and we love living here. We looked at a dozen places from Pleasanton to San Antonio to New Braunfels and we definitely picked the right spot. I’m told that Nancy opened the park about five years ago and there are some who have been here from the beginning and I love that about the place. You just won’t want to leave unless you have to. Nancy also offers several spots for those traveling through for only days or weeks. If you appreciate the outdoors and peace and quiet, this is your place. Last night I fell asleep to the owls communicating. There is a family of foxes that make appearances from time to time and a roadrunner that lives around here. Nancy has cattle in the pasture that roam nearby. My bird feeders are overwhelmed year round and it’s hard to keep up with the hummingbirds from April to October. Who needs amenities when you have nature? For exercise we walk the long driveway, the park roads, or the pasture. We are only 25 minutes from San Antonio and grateful to be living out of the city, yet close enough to go when needed. You won’t find trashy trailers here or loud partiers. There are some rules and that too is why we love it. I noticed there weren’t any updated posts and I hope this helps others to consider this piece of paradise. PS…I have no shortage of beautiful sunset pics but these are my favorites.”

“Could not be happier with this campground, it's quaint I believe there are about 20 spots. Every spot is wonderful and spacious! And plenty of room for parking as well. We just got here a couple of days ago. But have been full time camping for almost 4 years now because of my husband's job as a contractor. So far this is the best campground we have been too. The lake and corn fields provide plenty of privacy and on top of it all there is fishing! If you're looking for a weekend getaway or something long term, the prices are very fair and you won't be disappointed!”

“The couple that run the office are so polite and helpful. My wife and I stay here about 6 months of the year for a couple years now when visiting the east coast. Safe and clean park. Not much around but if you need a little stop where you don't have to worry about leaving your RV to go to the beach, this is the place. Reasonably priced monthly that includes electricity. “Simple. Quiet. Gravel sites close to each other. Some lake view sites. Pretty lake. Friendly owner. Lake and pier for fishing, no swimming. Boat ramp. Fairly level sites. Laundry room. Bath house. Somewhat wheelchair friendly. Basketball hoop. Small playground. First time here checking it out. Rained off and on, which kept us from being outdoors more, but it was warm and no wind, as typical for this area. North Carolina is so beautiful.”

“We where going to camp on North Beach but there was a coastal flood advisory so we decided to venture into the National Seashore (US fee area ) . We had to pay $25 which is a 7 day pass (no other option if your staying past midnight). The camp ground was full at Malachite Beach and decided to head to Bird Island Basin! The campsites were 90% Full all with RV’s. We had our tents After driving to the end we saw a very Faint sing that said parking only for day use and tent camping ? There are no marked camp areas for the location but there are canopy’s and a picnic table too close the water! After deliberating with my spouse we decided it was be best to head to the visitors center and verify weather or not we could camp at that location? Once we got there we had to show them the are on the map! They agreed it was ok ! We headed back and set up camp! It was great but very windy and a bit chilly my kids and wife were awesome! I recommend the area just be aware of poor signs and when you enter the park I hope you don’t have to encounter the rude park attendant who took our many and treated us like were stupid! She could of at least smiled! My dream job was to be a park ranger! She looked like she hates it!”

“We're seasonals that were displaced from another campground that we camped at for 16 years. Coming here we worried about the lack of amenities we had been used to, but there wasn't anything to worry about. The owners are very friendly and work tirelessly from dawn til dark to improve and update the park. The ponds are beautiful and clean. My kids have no trouble swimming in the lake. I'm a harder sell, but that's ok because there is a plan for a pool to be added next season! There are plenty of fish in each of the ponds and the kids enjoy catching them. They are working hard to get community building activities going(Friday bingo, monthly potlucks) and the band they had for Memorial weekend was outstanding! The rules and expectations for campers are quite reasonable for that of a family friendly campground. They had no trouble offering ample parking and a simple sign in for guests when we had my husband's 50th birthday party. We also found the golf cart trails this weekend and can't wait to explore those more in the coming weeks! Prices are fair and folks are very friendly. We're happy to have made the move.”

“I have been tasked to find a campground that offers seasonal (around 3-4 months) space for relatives from up North. I visited Ridge Manor Campground and was very pleased with my interaction with the staff, the amenities/activities, and cleanliness of the public areas. Shower and bathroom facilities were very clean. I was late in the season, so there were currently no spaces available. Ridge Manor is the nicest campground I visited in my search. Thank you to the staff for taking the time to educate me on your property and providing great information! I will be seeing you in the future!”
