Even I was smiling after I paid for my purchase. Two people assisted in ordering, I wish I had gotten the gentleman's name he was helpful, I had to follow up on something and Melissa jumped in to assist as previous person was on phone. She followed up w a phone call to give me the window for delivery, which was delivered at the front end of the window and not the last minute. Even the delivery crew was helpful and nice. Definitely the only place in Houston to get Lumber. Now if they could only develop a catalog! Great Place !”

“Overall a good experience. I'm a builder with a high level of expectations in quality, especially in this case as it was going inside a home. After ordering breeze block from another supplier and being disappointed with the rough quality of it I found Dag Block and Ken sent photos of their block up close to see the quality before ordering (I'm located in Michigan). Ken also offered and additional service to grind down the faces of the block after hearing about the quality I was looking for. He sent photos of that option as well and I decided on going with it. I would recommend ordering 10-20% more than needed as some edges were still chipped beyond useful. We polished the exposed ends to match the faces without too much trouble. “I've owned an AJC hatchet since I was 15 years old and am now 56. I've been a roofing contractor since 1979 and I'll tell you, anyone that doesn't have an AJC hatchet, or a slew of different ones for different needs in hammering strength, is not really a roofer. Some strangers with a nail gun may color a roof quickly with shingles but they'll blow off and leak. Hand nailing these thin asphalt shingles of today is the only way. Read my blog on Why Hand Nail? or Nail Guns, Staples or Hand Nail. You can find them on The Roof Forum. Seriously, professionals only hand nail. A nail gun nail is going up to 952 mph. Momentum counter sinks the nail. It is not over driven. A roofing hatchet only drives a nail flush. Plus they make a whole line of stuff for roofers like nail strippers, magnets on wheels and other stuff only a roofer, or a grandparent with nails in the yard, could love.”
