“I was supposed to stay elsewhere one night but my reservation got lost. I booked a night here via a third party site because it had the best rates (that wasn't a sketchy-looking motel). When I arrived, lo and behold, my reservation was technically on the wrong date. (At this point, it was nearly 3am, and I could not check in until 3pm). Cue the EXCELLENT customer service. I was helped by an employee at the front desk named Dana. He was not only incredibly friendly, but extremely understanding and accommodating. He SAVED my evening, my sanity, and my "relaxing" vacation! He saw that there was a room available, got me checked in, and I was able to finally rest after a LONG day of driving from San Francisco to Truckee late at night. He not only helped me snag a room, but he helped me reverse a complicated issue with the third party site (note to self -- call a property DIRECTLY for availability, deals, and more because 3rd party sites take so much from small businesses!). The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was very comfortable. I had considered cancelling my booking at the other resort so I could stay here longer...but I will be sure to keep this amazing hotel in mind for a near-future visit. Breakfast and coffee are included, as well as gorgeous outdoor scenery. It is also very conveniently located. Very special thank you to Dana. Your kindness, your professionalism, and SUPERB customer service is what I hope all future travelers get to experience!”

“This is hands-down the BEST place to stay in the Okefenokee Swamp!! We had stayed here several years ago, so we can attest to the amazing improvements made by the new owners! We stayed with our 2 year old daughter in a basic cabin for 2 wonderful nights (and we were not ready to leave when it was time :-) ). Upon arrival we were welcomed with a sweet little welcome bag with a few waters and snacks, a map of the property, and lunch/dinner menus. We had dinner in the cute little bar/cafe area and really enjoyed our DELICIOUS meal - pork nachos and chicken philly with cold draft seasonal beer - yes please!!! There are TVs and games (corn hole, shuffleboard, boardgames) for easy entertaining, which we loved, but more than anything, we loved having a little food/bar area where we could chat with fellow campers and Charlene - the amazing chef/caretaker of the property who is a part of the local Okefenokee community going back many generations. She made us feel right at home and we loved learning about her and her family's life/history there. We were also so appreciative of the complimentary coffee in the cafe/bar area in the mornings, which was a great comfort. Our cabins was so clean and the linens smelled so fresh. We were delighted by the little screened in porch and fire pit right outside, which we used nightly thanks to the firewood we were able to purchase from Pastimes! It is also surprisingly QUIET - we heard the squirrels, crickets, birds and breeze with no sound intrusion from other campers or cars (and no generators - hallelujah!) The bathroom/shower area is also incredibly clean and convenient - the water pressure is great and the shower can be made very hot, if you like hot showers like me! Our daughter also loved the playground area walking around the pond on the property. We are excited to come back and would recommend Pastimes 100000% with 5 full stars!”

“Been here many times when I was deeply involved with a project called 1000 Mermaids. We had the artificial display reefs set up on the property to showcase the non profit project. Everyone working here was always so friendly and accommodating. If we needed something they would always make it happen. Also hung out at the pool a bit and even happened to come by on Thanksgiving and get a couple big plates of food from a little catered event they were having there. Seems like it would be a nice place to work and has a family vibe to it, plus the restaurant upstairs is great as well. And enjoy the giant yachts while you're at it, impressive to say the least.”

“Pros: Beautiful hotel Good location Clean, nice rooms Staff very friendly Bikes and other fun amenities Beach club- some may view this as a con because the hotel isn’t on the beach but it was really nice. There’s a huge pool with service as well as shaded loungers in the beach. They give you complementary ice cold water and towels, there’s a few choices to eat as well as lockers to wash off. It’s actually pretty amazing. They have shuttles every hour to take you there. Cons: The club level could have a little better food in terms of selection (it may be worth it if you value convenience) No fridge in the room If you have a baby or toddler that sleeps in the crib you may be better off bringing your own. The crib they had was really small, and metal. My son didn’t sleep well in it.”

“I enjoyed my time here. It is a "camping experience" that's not "tenting" the tiny house u stayed in was cute and quiet the ac/heater worked great the beds were comfortable. The idea of a TV in the house is a bit of a joke as it isn't a smart TV and he has only cable so you can get many channels of static unless you bring your DVDs along. The house was clean and a fun experience. The lake is beautiful and the "hike" is fun”

Crystal Inn Neptune

Address: 706 NJ-35, Neptune Township, NJ 07753, USA

Lodging

“Hotel was nice, pool was the best part. Check in staff was friendly. Hallways had a chemically smell, not that of cleaners. And room floors where dirty from the moment we checked in. Also didn’t like that the doors didn’t close all the way unless you push them closed, very easy to accidentally leave them open and welcome unwanted company into your room. Also “breakfast” is bland cereal, OJ or coffee.. otherwise was a good hotel for the price.”
