“This is the most amazing place... so, we were attending a wedding here, instead of booking at an area hotel we checked in at the monastery and they had rooms available for guests at a bargain compared to the local hotels and it included 3 meals that we ate with the monks... Read up on the Rule of St. Benedict and you'll understand why these monasteries are a great way to retreat from your day to day life. We also got to speak with several brothers, attended mass and went for long walks...”

“I’ve been on a few guided trips for different things, this trip by far was one of the best. Guides, Deck hands and Owner all work with you hand in hand to make you have the best time in the swamps. First night water conditions were not great, but the second and 3rd night they found us some great clear water in a different location and let me tell ya it paid of doing the 3 day trip instead of only booking one day. We knocked off plenty of species on our bucket lists👌 Get with Cody at Extreme Bowfishing if you wanna have one of the best experiences of your life and make some great friends.”

“We stayed there for a short getaway and found the facility and our hosts very inviting. There is a lot to see and do in the area and they made sure that we knew where to go. Cressy House is just 200 feet from Lake Ponchartrain where you will see beautiful sunsets across this 24 mile wide lake, and sunrises as well if you are an early riser which we are not. The waterfront offers a scenic place to stroll, enjoy the view and people watch. David and Laura Cressy are very welcoming and we felt like old friends before we left. The room came with a very comfortable bed, private bath, delicious home made muffins and a fabulous jar of marmalade from her sister-in-law's kitchen. You will enjoy yourself at Cressy House. We will definitely go back.”

“Nicely maintained docks and grounds. Pleasant and helpful staff. Relaxing views and area. Would recommend this to other boaters. It is a bit of a walk to town to get to any shops and restaurants. They do not rent any bikes or golf carts. The C Pier has a lovely and fun vibe with raw bar food and drinks on Friday nights. A couple of things to make this more worthwhile on a holiday weekend would be to offer periodic golf cart shuttle rides to town and maybe more hours with the CPier open. It’s such a beautiful venue, it could attract more people on the long weekends.”

“My family of four (2 adults, a teenager and a toddler) stayed 2 nights. We really enjoyed ourselves. Staying here is comparable to being on a cruise ship meaning it's designed to make you want to stay. We enjoyed the water park because there was something for all age groups. We enjoyed the arcade and we did an escape room as a family. Head's up: you will spend a lot of money in the arcade just be ready for that. My husband and I didn't get a chance to enjoy one of the bars or live music outside because this trip was kid-focused however, if you are able to travel with a babysitter or family who are old enough to watch the little ones an evening at one of the bars would be a great conclusion to a day at the water park. We stayed in a basic room, but I'd love to upgrade to a suite with a private bedroom for the adults. Oh, and be prepared for the funds they put on hold on your credit card so you can charge goods to your room because they don't do cash here as a form of payment. The only cash used is for tips. I'd recommend coming and staying 3 nights to take it all in...be prepared to spend, but know it's all worth it. Kalahari Resorts and Conventions really does their job well; they provide the venue, you bring the family. The rooms and grounds are clean and the staff is extremely positive and helpful. We will be coming again.”

“This is such a terrific place, it was perfect for our one-night stay. My wife and I wanted to go visit Scratch Brewery, so we were looking for a place sort of nearby. The innkeepers Julia and George are truly delightful people, very kind and attentive; and Julia is an outstanding cook. The room was so nice and the bed comfortable. We had a relaxing time sitting on the spacious back porch and going to the White Rooster Farmhouse Brewery a short walk away. I am often quite picky about where I stay, and I found no fault whatever in The Orchid House. We will definitely be back again.”

“We go camping here to Kern River EVERY YEAR THUS FAR! God willing , for years to come . It's tradition , river has its ups and downs , but a good place to start tradition ! Depending on when you go, it might be packed . Make sure you bring EXTRA SUNBLOCK, just when you think you have enough brig another bottle or 3. Oh and check the water level prior to going. Bring rope , for rescuing someone if needed:)”

“The Empress Estates will allow you a stress free and incredible wedding day. They take care of so many aspects from the wedding cake to decor choices to catering, staff, bar, etc.. The grounds will offer opportunities for stunning photos, areas for mingling and so much more. One thing I would recommend is definitely purchase the photo booth! It was an absolute hit with our guests! The staff were so accommodating and even though they see so many weddings, they treat every one as if it's their only one. “We stayed in the sunflower ridge cabin in San Marcos. The views are amazing and it’s very quiet and peaceful out there. The hot tub is why we chose this cabin, we did have issues with it turning off every 5 minutes but outside of that we really enjoyed it. I will warn you the bedroom is loft style with a low ceiling so if you are tall this might not be the cabin for you. Overall loved the experience I would absolutely go back.”
