“This place reminds me of our favorite local bars from back home but with a much better view! It's been a bit of a challenge to find a local watering hole that also serves food. We got to meet Barry and his wife - they were so welcoming and fun! We got a couple drinks at the bar, and ordered chicken wings, steamed shrimp and lobster sliders. The wings were huge, but only came with buffalo hot sauce which my husband wasn't fond of (sorry!). I really enjoyed the sliders which were perfect size if you're hungry but not starving. The steamed shrimp made our friend happy as he polished them all off! I can't wait to go back and have more good times!”

“Very hospitable and welcoming.. even upon check-in at 3am.. and they were willing to accommodate us even though our reservation wasn't until the next day with no hassle.. Staff was consistent with daily check-ins to genuinely ensure we had everything we needed so we did not go without.. Upon check-out made us feel that we were welcomed to stay as long as we needed and/or warmly welcomed to return for any future stays. I have stayed in a lot of different types of hotels both higher end and some not so much but all in all it was nice to feel like a guest and not a person of suspect”

“Very welcoming atmosphere with nice owners. Great weekly rate with kitchenette. Rooms are clean, I stayed during the winter season, the heater worked flawlessly. Water quickly got hot, and the beds were comfy and big. If I'm ever in the area again, I'll most definitely stay here before anywhere else. “We had a great time there. Being able to make a few meals saved us some $$ for sure, as we have 2 kids. We were concerned about bedbugs, but did a thorough check and didn’t have any issues. Only complaint is that it took a long while to get a service call. Overall, great location, close to the strip but not TOO close. It was great for my family.”

“What a great event this weekend! Staff and security were absolutely amazing. If you showed up and got cold that's your fault. If you thought the food & drink where too expensive you didn't come prepared. Bathrooms and wash stations were everywhere & clean. If you have common sense and read the venue should of known it was going to be a long one. As far as bringing younger kids I don't think I'd made that choice or if I did I'd camped out. I definitely will be back”

“I've lived here since 2017. For the most part, I have loved it. Quiet. The owner is friendly. The park manager is not. The pool is always clean. The showers and bathrooms are cleaned daily. The grass is always kept nice. It is very reasonably priced. Not dog or kid friendly for the most part, but a good place to stay if you are passing through. Bob McGlashen, the owner, is generous and kind. A reasonable man”

“Staff is incredible. The entire area of VALLEY OASIS/VOA territory is patrolled by LASD. The dorms are filled with beds with people who are enduring the Winter without a home. Only 90 days with a case manager here who is supportive and determined to rapidly re-house each participant. The policy is strictly enforced which mainly require no drugs, no fighting & no theft just to name a few- curfew at 10pm- lights on at 6am. There's no pressure to do anything. It's very important to meet with your case manager weekly. There are showers three times a day, clean clothing available, free washers and dryers available every day throughout the week. Breakfast, lunch & dinner provided. Smoking is allowed in the designated area. A huge recreational area to spend time socializing with the new people going through the same hardship of homelessness. Best of all, there's coffee and your able to ask for seconds. Also, there is a vending machine in case you want to buy snacks. There is only one bus line that runs nearby from Quartz Hill to Owen Memorial Park throughout the day. Bus stop is in walking distance to ride the AVTA #9 BUS. ITS NOT the RITZ however it's clean, safe and patrolled. Good enough for me.”

“This is a great place for a relaxing weekend or week at the river. We started visiting about 3 years ago. We have friends' who live nearby and have a yearly get together. My husband and daughter fish off the pier and we love the peacocks that reside there and the sunsets. Suzanne makes sure you are well taken care of and are welcome to the area with recommendations of places to eat and things to do. Because of the above reasons we have started visiting more than once a year. During the latest visit in early December, my husband caught a large striper and my daughter and I visited Haven Beach.”

“Its seems like a very nice place to stay. My 2 issues were 1-with 2 young girl (children) who were very rude as i was throwing trash out. They were holdin there fingers up like guns yelling at me to give them all my money, each time i had to walk past them. 2- loud barking dogs locked inside of the trailer closest to the dumpster scared me. They barked the entire time and growled at me when i went to the dumpster. Who ever owns this place needs to do better background checks before letting people live there!!!”
