“Our stay at the Goldmine Lodge was lovely and so much more than expected. We were offered an upgrade to a 2 room suite which included a kitchen area, rustic living room with wood burning open fireplace and separate bedroom with 2 comfortable double beds. The furnishings and design accessories were cozy and charming. It was all very clean. The shower was nice and hot! The garden was a good place to watch birds (why we were in Big Bear) and equipped with barbecue grills. The location on Moonridge Rd. was lovely and near the ski area. It was a short drive to good restaurants, gas and our bird watching.”

“Wanted to share my review of the hotel where we stayed a week with my disabled husband and a puppy. Overall it was an exceptionally good experience for us. The room fit very well, room cleaning each day was really really good, breakfast was great and provided variety of food options. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I love the fact that the building is only for 6 cabins so it is more private and you get to have your own parking spot already (1 car only) . Restaurants , bars and gas stations are less than 8-4mins away. My boyfriend and I had a great time staying here . 👍”

“This motel was heaven sent. Jessica and Tyrone, the managers, live on the property and were very helpful and encouraging. They made us feel comfortable and at home. We stayed 6 weeks while waiting to move into the home we bought. The room was spacious. There was a queen bed, a dresser, night stand, smart TV, a microwave, and a mini fridge. To help us feel more like being at home, we were allowed to bring our 2 recliners and my husband's mattress. He has back issues, and this stay would have been unbearable without these. We have 2 dogs, that were welcomed as the family they are. The pet fee was reasonable. The weekly rate is unbeatable. The water pressure was awesome, and there was always hot water, which was important to me as i loved a hot relaxing bath. Since there are quite a few long stay guests, it felt more like a community than a motel. As excited as we are to be in our home, we definitely miss the awesome environment we experienced here. If we ever have another situation where we need a home away from home, we will be returning here. Thank you, Jessica and Tyrone, for providing us peace and comfort during a stressful time for us!”

“It's a fun little older hotel to stay at. The pool is amazing and the hot tub was awesome! The hardware was old and the bathroom and beds are a bit rough but overall it is an incredibly great little hotel for the price! If you're on a budget, this hotel will not disappoint and the view of the ocean is just fantastic. Staff were nice too! They let us check in 3 hours early. Really enjoyed the 10-day stay and highly recommend the Schooner for budget-conscious travelers.”

“Joyce and the staff are wonderful with our two Rottweilers! They maintain our regular schedule for feeding, walks, etc. so there's no adjustment period when the dogs come home. The building is exceptionally clean and spacious, with plenty of safe outdoor space for playing. The pups are always excited to go, and they are calm and happy when they come home. And I get peace of mind while I'm away because I know they are well cared for.”

“My fiancé, his children, and I stayed a Friday night, it was cozy with very friendly staff. We needed an extra blanket and pillow and the staff was super friendly and very helpful. The pool was small but there was no one in there and the kids had a blast. One thing that wasn’t mentioned was that the double queen bed room has a sofa with a pull out bed. The kids were amazed at it! The rooms were very simple with comfortable beds. All around decent place for a night. Breakfast was also great. No complaints!”
