“Very spacious and beautiful out here. The owner and his assistant are very friendly and will literally give you the shirts off their backs. They patrol and maintain the area really well and they don't allow party's or riff Raff in the park so it's family friendly here. Every interaction with the owner has been above and beyond our greatest expectations and last but not least, their monthly rates are the highest value we've seen. My wife and my kids and I are so happy here and will definitely return whenever we visit family in Tuscaloosa. Side note we drive a 29 ft motorhome and we had plenty of space.”

“The owner was very nice. My wife and I had a very nice and quiet weekend. We very much enjoyed our stay. Great landscape and pond. The trees are beautiful. You are free to fully enjoy a stay in the woods at a lake the way you want. If you want a fire, build one. If you want to cook, there's a nice kitchen. The bed was very comfortable and the 2 person jacuzzi tub was awesome. I highly recommend.”

“McConnell AFB FamCamp I There are 10 pull through spaces in FamCamp I, full hookups, picnic table and fire pit at each pad. No problem with 30 amp hookup for the week we were here. There is a run/walking path, fishing ponds, lots of space and pavilions in this tucked away oasis near the Outdoor Rec Office. Occasionally a refueler comes or goes from the runway but I was surprised by how noise level was low. I enjoyed watching the big birds do touch and go. The facilities are easy to access. The Dining Facility is great and open to all. We loved it here during our week visiting family on Wichita. Lovely setting and peaceful, well maintained site.”

“The owners have helped a great many people ( late payments, or no payment at all for a month) I know this due to a being acquaintance of mine.I'm sure more than I know. I have seen first hand , a home after a tennet vacated the resident ( for whatever reason ) go from not being livable due to the destruction left behind to , Looking as if the home was just delivered from the factory. I have witnessed every year asphalt being applied to the drive. It is the responsibility of the tennet to tend the lawn , and their belongings. And No I'm not related to the owners, and no I'm being paid in any way, and Yes I'm proud to say that I call Golden Acres HOME.!!! *** A home is what you make it. Update- The park has been sold to New Owners. We will see if they can maintain the greatness of the previous owners. These are going to be some big shoes to fill. ***CONGRATULATIONS and best wishes to David& Brenda Bal you have deserved your semi- retirement.( because I know neither one of you can sit still for a very long time) Best Wishes, Phil&Shanna Ketcham Sr”

“Beautiful and clean campground. A great host who went above and beyond to help out campers when the lower sites unexpectedly and suddenly flooded. We had a wonderful stay, despite mother nature's curveball, and are already planning our next trip in the new year.”

“A couple months ago I decided to move into a camper permanently close to the lake. I was looking on Google and East Basin came up, I called and I was told to come by and take a look and see if it was something that would be interested on, because it is a new developing campground. I did drive by and I was pleased to see the property! I moved in a few days after that and don’t regret it one bit very quiet, Super private, close to the lake, pet friendly, beautiful at night, respectful neighbors, owners pretty much give you a spot that you can call home they’re not snooping around checking to see what you’re wearing, if you need anything they will respond quick, very well-maintained! I’m glad I chose this campground!!! I’m happy to call East Basin campground home!”

“Thank you Herb & Tina for a wonderful stay. Not only are they great folks, they are also wonderful hosts and cooks. The cabin was perfect along with the wonderful grounds with a lakefront dock and view! I saw my 1st mama moose and baby right from their deck! Herb was able to hook my husband up with a fishing guide for a day trip while I stayed behind and enjoyed the peace and quite (and nature). I feel like I've made new AK friends and can't wait to return next summer!”

“This is your "standard" hotel that satisfies all your basic needs. The beds are comfy, the rooms are clean. What puts this hotel over the top is the staff! The people are fantastic and went out of their way to accommodate our family in town staying for our reunion. A big thanks to Charlene for being our liason as each of us arrived from all over the country. Jim K at the front desk always has a morning smile and gladly answered all our questions about the area and our booking. Neil managed this hotel with ease and walked the grounds checking the details, greeting guests and literally singing a song from time to time. This hotel may not have fancy "bells & whistles" but they do have the people that makes it the place you want to stay!”

“What i liked best was the covered parking. The building is old, but everything was in working order. Onsite owners are nice. They are good about keeping a safe environment. It is on the out skirts of town, in a pleasant country setting.”

“I read several negative reviews on this park before visiting and after staying for the night I really don't understand why. I would give it a true 3.5 rating. It is not as nice as a state park, yet not as bad as some of the KOA parks we have stayed. The park is nice for local boaters and has a swimming area. The restrooms were clean and had hot water. (The shower pressure could be a little stronger, but definitely met our needs). The park was pretty quiet after 10 p.m. and we slept well. We saw local police patroling throughout the park several times, which is a plus for safety. Our site was: level, had a covered picnic table, a grill, a fire pit, electrical hook up, and water spicket. We would definitely stay again if we were passing through.”

“Northern CA wine aficionados will know how hard it is to get a good Barbera out of Napa, Sonoma, Livermore -- but the great news is SALUTI has nailed it! My daughter, sommelier-in-training, says Saluti's Barbera was the best she's ever tasted. She's scraping the Livermore dust off her feet and heading up to Somerset this weekend for a full tasting extravaganza. Not only is the Saluti tasting room beautifully appointed and rustic, not only are Tina and Randy welcoming, engaging and delightful, not only are the wines divine, but the overall experience is a slice of heaven. The scenic drive through Somerset, swirling through towering sugar pine forests, majestic as it is, does not prepare one for the sheer beauty of the descent on a perfectly paved broad driveway into the 250-acre canyon paradise which is Saluti Canyons. So stunning is the the Winery House and Bed & Breakfast architecture that I fully expected Kevin Costner and the Yellowstone cast to appear any moment. Hiking? Bocci ball, horseshoes? Wonderfully manicured gardens, charming patio seating, sloping vineyards, sprawling green lawns, scenic duck pond....Can I just move in? Strolling around the grounds and marveling at the wedding pavilion, I can understand why so many rave reviews for Saluti are from couples who celebrated their vows on these grounds. I will recommend cancelling any contracts you might have and rescheduling your event here.”

“Just driving through to see if this would be a place I would want to live in. I must say the area and the homes were nicer then alot of places I have seen . I would not think twice about moving into the park and the few kids that were out riding there bikes . Well they made sure they watched for me as I did them and we both came to a stop sign they flaged me to go first but I was not ready yet. I thought that was nice that they knew that other parks I have been in the kids just do what they want. I was really happy with the Mobile park.”

“Our first time visiting Slaton, we stopped here for dinner back in 2010. Right after dinner, we got engaged. We were so thrilled to revisit that spot this year. So glad to see this restaurant is still thriving. The perfect little place to fill your belly. Service was top notch, and we can't wait for our next West Texas adventure back to this cozy little establishment.”

“The Beachcomber is an adorable inn right on the beach and close to the causeway. The room was spotlessly clean. The grounds were well maintained. The best part is how we were welcomed by the owners, Tekla and Robert. They went above and beyond to accommodate us, making us feel so comfortable and giving us excellent recommendations on where to go and see during our visit. This is a little gem. I highly recommend it.”
