“Booked this place on accident (I thought I booked the place I stayed at 5 years ago), but I was not disappointed. Not gonna share which "room" I stayed in because I don't want it overbooked in the future, but if you find the gem at this place you'll know what I'm talking about. Front desk was friendly and helpful. My room was clean! And cozy! Some areas are dated (may get an update soon), and some have been recently updated, but the stay was amazing nonetheless. Across from the river and close to town, I'm definitely booking again for a family stay, only when this room is available.”

“Wonderful option to enjoy the VIR racetrack, our room was comfortable, well equipped, convenient, only thing (is not to their fault) we couldn't find food for the night, so we learned we need to bring it with us. Far from the noise but so close to the action, recommend 100%. Check out was weird because we just left and never talked with no one and no instructions left.”

“This place is just as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. Such a serene place, with a secluded feel while at the same time being conveniently close to the cute town of Julian. We came last year for our anniversary, and again this year for our anniversary. It was just as wonderful the second time. The llamas are so much fun to feed. The room is clean and has such fun decor. We stay at Stargazer when we come, and we love the private jacuzzi. The bed is the most comfortable in the world, and we get the best sleep here. Thank you, Chris, for your wonderful hospitality.”

“Service with a smile. This was our first weekend on the river, so we were exploring and comparing it to the lake life. On our Sunday morning stroller we needed a few gallons of gas and we slid right into this location. Didn't have to leave the boat! Great customer service and the gas was not as high as I thought it would be. We will definitely go back here when we are on the water and need fuel.”

“This is one of the best Airbnb stays we have been to so far. It was such a fabulous place and pleasant experience that selfishly we almost didn't want to share with too many people. The place is tastefully decorated with lots of nice paintings, artifacts and plenty of books. We felt like transcending to a magical place and were truly rejuvenated. The hosts, Laura and Mike, are so delightful and friendly and we enjoyed our conversation. We will definitely want to come back.”

“The workers are very kind and polite, the rooms are fresh and comfortable! The room has a small kitchen with a well sized fridge that also has a small freezer, an electric stove and a microwave. “The park is very clean, safe, and "charming" with guinea chicks, turkeys, and deer that appear from time to time. They offer great daily or weekly prices and offer full hookup (water, sewer, electricity). The owners are friendly and extremely helpful... great people! The other campers were also friendly and welcoming. We had a wonderful and restful stay. It's also close to Bandera, a cute, western themed town. We would definitely stay here again when in town.”

“My family spent a week vacation in Santa Cruz at the Torch Lite and we'd do it again. The location is perfect. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach and the Boardwalk and 10 minutes to downtown restaurants. The rooms are comfortable and recently updated so everything is new. We enjoyed sitting out on their second floor patio, but note that their pool had been removed. My only small complaints were our room was not serviced during our stay and the bath soap and shampoo weren't very high quality.”

“First trip here we were sold and going to try and get on the waiting list to get an annual spot. Owner and staff super nice and place is well maintained. The weekend were there was really slow but I get the feel it's a family place. Good river access from most spots. Boat ramp also available on site. 5 - 10 minute boat ride from Hamm Creek Park so you could have people there and shuttle between the two. Highly recommend. Locked gate access and you must call if your not an annual user to see the property. On site RV and boat storage if you are a annual user and want to store your equipment there. Adding to my first review. We went back for Memorial Day weekend to tent camp this time. First the staff was super nice and helpful again. Can't say enough good things about them. The tent spots were large enough for several tents with plenty of shade. There were clean restrooms provided, no showers. Good amount of firewood delivered to your campsite for 30$. Highly recommend this place.”

“Me and my wife drove through the park looking for a new place for my mother to live. It appears to be a very clean and a quiet place. Very well kept. We spoke with management and they were very polite and helpful. Rates a very reasonable compared to other parks. We are considering a couple of different parks for my mother to move onto , But this one is at the top of our list by far.”
