“FREE museum!! FREE parking!! A good place to bring kids of all ages! Easy to walk through the museum (no stairs to climb). Amazing collection of taxidermy! The lady working at the front desk on February 24th was pleasant! There are picnic tables outside so feel free to sit in the shade.”

“I've only been in the art gallery once, a long time ago when I was still in elementary school. I normally walk through Union college and passed the Mandeville gallery. I go there now for the pokestops 😂😂😂 Still a great place to sit and relax or study.”

“Best museum I've visited in a while. The whole area is beautiful and full of great culture. Scandia and the surrounding area embody a genuine appreciation for Swedish-American culture, and history. The greeter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the area and swedish immigration to the area.”

“Absolutely mesmerizing experience with a great visual treat for your eyes with amazing music in the background. Very strongly recommend. They also have a nice cafe, parking and great gift shop (but pricey for single items but bundle offers are there) inside. They also check vaccination status. Book tickets at least a few days in advance. Van Gogh's paintings were projected as a video on to all 4 walls and the floor and the transitions were smooth and really good to watch. The entire presentation lasts for about 30-35 minutes but is worth seeing at least twice.”

“Very fun experience! The staff and ghost hunters were very knowledgeable of not only the history of the planes but of some of the ghosts who reside there. A must try for a night out or for someone wanting to have a paranormal experience. I'll definitely be going back!”

“Excellent small-town museum that exhibits the history of Allen. I especially liked their exhibit "Allen - Then and Now," which looked at photos of downtown Allen and the blocks around the museum and compared it to what the area looks like today. It was a great way to see how Allen has transformed through the decades from a small town centered around the railroad to a thriving city in the DFW metroplex. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that I feel the locomotive and caboose on display outside the museum could use some descriptive signs around them. They are nice to look at and walk around, but I didn't seen any plaques stating what they were, where they came from, or what their connection to Allen is. Otherwise, this was an excellent museum with very nice staff.”

“Very nice venue. Went for a birthday party. Couldn't give 5 stars due to the broken and warped boards out on the deck area. Several people got snagged.”

“Interesting historical collection of artifacts with regional mementos and documents that includes the "lost battalion". I was impressed by the soldier's account of Forced labor and torture. Let's no forget that those acts of cruelty in hands of any government is unquestionably immoral. I appreciate the efforts of the individuals making possible to have the museum open for public visits. Thanks”

“One of the best selections of aerospace and aeronautical displays in the United States. Plan on spending at least 2 hours. We actually did the 2 day visit pass for 2 hours each day. Ensure you're aware of the opening and closing hours. Drink a lot of water if you're spending any time outdoor at the displays. Do the outdoor displays 1st then come back in the hangers as it gets hot outside quickly.”

“If you are history buff, especially of the Civil war, stop off and tour the boyhood home of Nathan Bedford Forrest. Don’t follow the GPS. It will not take you to the correct entrance. Turn at the historical marker on Pyles Rd. The gates were closed on our first attempted visit but it was the lunch hour so I guess they were closed. So glad we returned the next day at 1pm. The tour guide was knowledgeable with details. There were many artifacts from the 1800’s. The cedar smell in the log cabin remains which amazed me. Take a few minutes to relax in the rockers on the front porch. The rocking, gentle breeze, and the view will take you back to the 1800’s.”
