Fielder House Museum

Address: 1616 W Abram St, Arlington, TX 76013, USA

Museum

“I loved learning about the history of Arlington, TX where I was born am raised. Wanda was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable the the WWII room and I loved learning about the people who fought for our country that were either from Arlington or associated with Arlington. I wish more people in Arlington would donate items they have that might be able to tell more of the history. There was quite a bit of information and items that allowed me to have insight into the growth of Arlington, TX but the history mostly stops around 1960. The Cowboys stadium was not mentioned, and although that was more recent, it is a VERY prominent feature of Arlington and will remain one of the most famous features for I'm assuming a very long time. I would like to see more information on how the stadium was brought here. Also, when it came to the Education area upstairs, I loved seeing the vintage composition books, and the things that had for viewing. But like I said, the history stops too Early here at the museum. Allan Saxe is a VERY important educational figure for Arlington TX and specifically UTA. He opened a free dentist office, a park, and placed the giant DREAM letters in downtown Arlington. He even has a burger named after him at J Gilligan's. I wish there was stuff about him as he will be remember throughout history here in Arlington and has been a huge part of the community for 50yrs. Overall it was a fantastic experience but hopefully they get some newer items to show the cities exceptional growth more so within the last 50yrs so that the millennials and Gen Z like myself can have a better understanding of ALL the features in Arlington and the history behind things that are also more prominent to our generations.”

The museum showcased a variety of influential African American figures. It also showed how slaves were treated before and when they came to America. They also hold tours of the place. Of all the society’s properties, only the Little Red School House and the Gores Pavilion (more below) are off campus. At the main location you can check out exhibitions expertly curated from the society’s massive collections, and get a taste of life in New Canaan in days gone by at the Rock Schoolhouse (1799), Cody Drug Store (1845), the Town House (1825), the Hanford-Silliman House (c. 1764), the Rogers Sculpture Studio (1878) and the Tool Museum and Printing Office. The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze: Hudson Valley

Address: 525 S Riverside Ave, Croton-On-Hudson, NY 10520, USA

Museum

“This thing is amazing! We came several years ago before our daughter was born and then the exhausted brain of parenthood and a pandemic led us to kinda forget about it until tickets were sold out each year. But this year we remembered! The Blaze is great with separate areas dedicated to themes. My favorite was an area dedicated to famous works of art but my daughter (6) really liked the rave house. Some things to know -- buy your tickets months in advance. It sells out quick. Know that you're going to wait in your car for about 30 minutes to get to the parking lot. Bring hot drinks for your people so you don't wait in line for another 30 minutes.”
