“Such a pretty spot with well preserved historic buildings and lighthouse. We visited many many years ago, when our kids were young. It is nice to see it again. It was chilly! Wear warm clothing this time of year ;) There are abundant ramps and paved walkways around the buildings, however, the bathroom that is open to the outside is not accessible (there are stairs inside, and one step up from the outside). It’s free to visit, but there’s a charge to walk up during the season ($5 adults/$2 children). No charge from Nov til Memorial Day, the off-season. Museum and the North tower are open Wednesday-Sunday 10AM - 4PM. Pets are welcome outside (leashed). Plenty of parking.”

“Great little museum. Lots of interesting local history for everyone in the family. Perfect place to come on rainy day when spending the weekend in shaver. Several picnic tables around outside too. Check out the big granite boulders out back near the amphitheater. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable.”

“Cool place, lots of great trucks, cars, fire trucks, construction vehicles. The history is really nice to see. Donation only to keep it funded so chip in a few bucks. These old guys that are running this are working hard and getting up there in years. We should transfer some of this knowledge before it disappears. Check the place out”

“Our guide, Eric, was very knowledgeable about the history of the home and surrounding areas and all the home's prior residents. He had interesting anecdotes and cheerfully answered our many questions. The home itself had alot of items that were original and you could get up close to most of them for a good look. We were on the last tour of the day, but we were not rushed along and felt like Eric would have answered questions for alot longer. He clearly loves sharing this home's history. The tour was great for adults but probably not very exciting for children under 12.”

“They only welcome visitors for tours once a year but it's well worth it. $5 per person, under 12 free. There is SO MUCH to see plus it's in the woods so wear appropriate shoes. They welcome campers, first come first serve, and craft & food vendors throughout the trails.”

“Small museum, however the people who work at this establishment are so sweet. We were able to get a tour which was awesome and sweet . Please note, this museum is open to the public on Thursday/ Friday 10-3pm. For other times an appointment needs to made. Please note, It’s right next to lions park. So it’s a great activity to do if you are visiting the park as well.”

“What can I say, this was just an incredible experience. There are some pieces in here that were just amazing to be within the presence of. Thr house is supposed to be "just as it was left by Weisman", and it really does look like it was lived in. Great care and deliberation have been taken in the decoration, placement, and thoughtfulness in the design and layout of this house, but also in it's preservation. If you have an opportunity to schedule a tour here, please do yourself a favor and take it. The docent was friendly, knowledgeable, and seemed excited to be there, which made the tour a very pleasurable time, albeit moving a little quickly. I know they have other tours scheduled, sometimes back-to-back, but I really wish I would've had a _little_ more time to linger in some of the areas, as there's just so much to see (you could honestly spend an hour just appreciating each room, nonetheless the entire property). No photos allowed inside, but you can take them outdoor. Also, you park inside the property on the driveway, not on the street.”

“We were at Bone Creek today for about the 10th time. Every time we go they have well curated exhibits. There are different themes to the exhibits. One having to do with the braceros period in our history, one comparing two contemporary artists, one on flowers, one on corn, and all having to do with farming, planting, harvesting, or some aspect of living on the land. The owners and volunteers all have a passion for agrarian art and for Bone Creek Museum. They are very accommodating, great hosts, answer any questions you might have, or point you to other things you might like. They offer classes occasionally, have great events, and we have never been disappointed. They are proud of David City and can direct you to a couple of great cafe's in town. The BBQ cafe a block west and about 3 businesses north of the museum and a Mexican cafe just west in the same block as the museum. There is an antique store next to the BBQ restaurant, which, by the way serves grass fed burgers and they are very good! If you live in Lincoln or Omaha, it is a great way to slow the pace of life for a day. Treat yourself to Bone Creek Museum, lunch, and a stroll around the beautiful park or walk the streets. There is a nice selection of old and new architecture in the homes near the park. It's a lovely road trip!”

“Before you stay… get an understanding of the house. This is not just any Airbnb. The house was constructed specifically for the original owners, so it’s very unique to the property and the tall slim owner. For anyone wanting to experience the uniqueness and beauty of a Frank Loyd Wright house, this is for you! We stayed with our two adult daughters and thoroughly loved the experience. We especially liked viewing the sketchbook of the original owner, who was an artist and teacher. And the staff was wonderfully responsive to any questions or needs we had. Downtown Cleveland is just a short drive away for any museums or activities you need. Restaurants and grocery store are nearby. BUT be aware that if you are a light sleeper, you will hear the highway noise. Just bring a pair of earplugs and you’ll be fine.”

“Late summer visit was the perfect day. We began our visit with a picnic at the fountain pond. After lunch, it was a short walk to the museum farm area where turkeys, chickens, sheep, mules/donkeys and pigs were on display. The museum buildings are closed. A semi secluded area with a few picnic tables for seating provided a quiet area to sit and relax. We ended our visit with a short walk through a wooded area, past a hidden pond that led us back to the fountain pond. We had our dog with us. There is plenty of open space to switch to the 50' leash and let him run. But, around the farm, the short leash was a better choice. The farm museum is close the 295 and you'll hear background road noise from it. I recommend a visit here if you have the chance. Especially on less crowded days.”

“Drove here with my toddler today from another town, well worth the drive! Two floors of activities kept her occupied for hours. Very educational and hands on. Her favorite was the water activity table!”

“Watch the video in the theater. If you have love of baseball, family, history, or a heart you'll be moved. Take 2 to 3 hours and you can see the whole museum portion without rushing. Take more if you're someone who wants to read everything. The Hall itself is cool for a baseball nerd, but not the main reason to come. Cooperstown is place you can spend a whole weekend alone or with your family.”

“Historical archeological museum today everyone can learn from. It's a great opportunity for a stay at home moms to bring their kids to have an educational experience. I would highly suggest this museum for home schoolers as well. Perhaps this location would team up with the Tourism Industry for group/corporate events.”

“If you are a Historian efficienado and want to learn more about the history of glass, then The Oglebay Institute Glass Museum is the place to go. It does cost to go experience the tour. It is not overly priced. Very informative, there is a video that you can watch, and you can hear the video throughout the museum as you explore and read the description of the pieces that you are looking at. I just wish I would've taken more photos than what I did.”
