“We had our wedding here in August. Rented out the main house and chalet for 3 days and it was an absolutely magical experience. It was the best day of our lives and this retreat along with the staff were integral to making that so. I can't thank them enough for their hospitality and service. They were very accommodating without being intrusive. The lodging was extraordinarily clean and organized. Our reception went pretty late into the night and they didn't mind the noise at all. It is located right next to a train that will come through periodically throughout the day and night and is very loud. We were lucky enough to get through our ceremony without it passing through but for anyone considering this as an event location, keep that in mind. To us, it was part of the experience and charm of the place. All of our friends and family really enjoyed it. We all loved it so much, we're already talking about coming back.”

People who are handicap can apply for a special pass for state and county parks. It's free for them. If you live nearby and you would enjoy park as is, it is very well done. “A group of us stayed at Canyon Lake Retreat. There were deer at this location every night! In the mornings it was very relaxing. We also made s'mores at night. The beds were very comfortable, and everything was fully stocked. The house also had extra bedding and pillows to make you more relaxed. There are a lot of activities to do in the area. Guadalupe State Park is great for camping, kayaking, hiking, and swimming. Overall, this is a great, quiet location to stay at while on vacation.”
