“So you are accustomed to staying in four-star hotels? Pull up in front of this 1955-era brick motel and you might be tempted to punch the accelerator back toward the interstate. Then you would miss out on one of the last remaining real bargains in the USA. Clean if spartan rooms, refrigerator and microwave, satellite tv and a self-service laundry only a few steps away, all for only $49.95 (tax included). We did not see any bugs except the normal insects common to an Illinois summer evening, all of them outdoors. We repeat and re-phrase: this place does not have roaches. We did not hear our neighbors nor any traffic noise. Dead quiet all night. It is a clean and cheap place to spend the night in the middle of rural America. Our family would certainly stay here again, given the opportunity.”

“Had an amazing, 5 night stay here with my family of 6! Beautiful hotel! Beds were super comfy! Rooms are a little on the small side and have some wear and tear but they do an awesome job of keeping the hotel spotless and the friendly, helpful staff more then make up for any of the minor blemishes. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast we’ve ever had! They had an incredible buffet of delicious pastries and parfaits, potatoes, eggs, bacon and sausage, cold cereal, oatmeal, fruit and salad…. Plus a different main course every morning, biscuits and gravy and strawberry crepes were our favorite! The buffet host made us feel right at home and all the staff were so friendly and happy. The pool was pretty big and the perfect temp for a cool refreshing swim and the hot tub was hot! Both were very clean! (We actually saw them cleaning it every morning) Hotel is close to the freeway but our room faced the courtyard and pool so we never heard any road noise. Walls must be well insulated too because we never heard our neighbors either. The shuttle was a huge bonus! The driver was so kind and did a great job!! Absolutely LOVED this hotel and hope to stay again next time we visit the area!!”

“I love catching bass here they are small but it's a nice spot for beginners or families to practice. Also to even catch their first fish. Just use the Carolina rig with a night crawlers cast it by the rocks across the river, hold ur rod and slowly reel it in you will definitely feel bites”

“Stayed At the Alvin RV Resort after purchasing our new fifth wheel from a dealer in Alvin. We live about 4 hours away and wanted to use the RV in case we encountered any issues before leaving for home. We had upgraded to a much larger RV than we previously had and requested a space whch would make it easy to back in. This was accommodated and much appreciated. The park is large and was not too busy during our stay. I would agree with a previous reviewer that some the grass does need to fill-in a bit, but being new this will come with time. It is overall excellently maintained. We did encounter an issue with one of our slides on the morning we were scheduled to depart and ended up having to return to the dealer for repairs. This necessitated us having to stay an additional night and we were accommodated right into the same space. The staff here is super friendly and helpful and they live on-site which is a plus. I would recommend this park and will use it personally again as the need arises for us to return to the area.”

“I loved this little motel so much that I will definitely be back! The rooms are so modern and decorated very nicely, the shower/tub is just luxurious! Hot hot water and amazing pressure. The shower head is a waterpik (all rooms are equipped with the same shower heads) with multiple settings for spray, massage, and light spray. The T.V. is a newer LG brand mounted to the wall. There is a bigger fridge in each room as well as a Keriug coffee maker in each room with complimentary K cups. I really enjoyed the staff as well. “Love this place. Very family oriented tight-knit community. Everyone has a life story to tell. The park is owned by a great owner as well ran tight and right. Corporate Management, property Management and Maintenance work fast on getting any issues fixed in a quick fashion.. Responses to complaints promptly. Respected and respectful staff. Just wish more people would talk to the staff politely instead of talking threw them. Nothing can be heard if only thing that can be heard is noise (yelling and screaming). Everyone owns their own trailer. The property is kept up really well. overall a great place to be. Right next to the water at that.”

“Stayed at Hummingbird Guest Nest on 8/17/18 with my son. Easily made day-of arrangements over phone with Smitty, the affable owner. Perfect set-up for 2-3 person kayaking group. (Possibly more than 3?) Full kitchen area, living room area, and 3 bedrooms (not sure but possibly all Queen-sized beds). Bathroom with shower. Rack for hanging rinsed-off boating gear. Porch. Fire ring (which we will use on our next visit.) Spic and span clean. Non-smoking. Endearing photos of raft-guiding son. Reasonable pricing. Located on Blaine Street which is up the hill (up Sheridan Street) from the Falls Market Restaurant and Inn located at the intersection of Route 381 and Sheridan Street in "downtown" Ohiopyle. Overall impression? Could not ask for more given the ample space, cleanliness, price, and location.”

“Really good experience here for a decent price. The location is beautiful and the proximity to the tavern was great. Service was great and polite (actually at our arrival the front desk person was getting chewed out over a trivial matter by a guest and handled it like a champ). Rooms are a bit old and not much in the way of sound proofing, but kind of expected in an old place like this. Overall, nice experience for the price.”
