“Good place to stay just a short drive out of Galveston and MUCH cheaper than anything on the island. You get what you pay for but no complaints at this price point. I-45 construction added some small difficulty getting to it but that'll be resolved soon. Complimentary breakfast was good with a waffle maker and Jimmy Dean microwave biscuit sandwiches and an assortment of cereal. Air conditioner worked VERY well in our room. Good place for out of towners in Galveston to catch a cruise the next day.”

“Stayed at site 14 which lacked a ramada but had the best view of the butte. The whole campground was clean, as were the two bathrooms nearby. There's a bit of noise from the nearby town and street but overall a great experience.”

“We loved the few days we spent here camping,we're a family of 5 and had plenty of space to ourselves and away from other campers at site 14. Our site had a bear box, fire ring and picnic table. The campground had water stations and trash bins along with vault toilets which were very clean. The camp host was very nice and checked on us a few times to see if we needed fire wood. Great experience and campground with lots of shade with alot of trees for your hammock and space for a large tent. We will Definitely be going back.”

“The indoor pool was too cold at 76 degrees, and front desk would not make it warmer. They said that it would cause bacterial growth, which is not believable. The pool was basically unusable for the kids, and this is why we booked this hotel. Everything else was great. The hotel is new and clean. Staff friendly. Breakfast was very decent. Overall the value was fair, just disappointed with the cool pool temp.”

“Just returned home last night. Can't say enough good things about Amsterdam Manor. The place is immaculate. The pool was right outside of our room. The beach was a quick walk across the street. We always had plenty of fresh towels. The maid service was awesome. We had breakfast at Passions every morning and the food and service was top notch. The Horizons bar was great too, we loved our time with Elvis, the best bartender on the island. A couple of little suggestions...the music at Horizons was not very enjoyable. I think different music might draw more people. The door to the room opens to the left, but the curtain opens to the right (sounds minor, but was super annoying and led to the curtain jamming the door, so double check your doors when you leave your room) We will definitely be back, we loved the location. Kind of halfway between the high rise area and the cruise port area.”

Was super loud, even in the room so we ended up leaving until the reception was finished and returning late at night (after 2am) to make sure we could get some sleep. When checking in we did not know there was going to be a loud reception right outside our door that evening. If I was made aware would've tried to go across the street.”

“We couldn't have picked a better spot to have our reunion of friends. This rustic lodge has large rooms for gathering, and a well equipped kitchen. The rooms were clean, and most had their own bathroom. The front porch is the star of the show. Russ is the perfect host for this place. He encouraged us to make it our home for our stay. Plenty of land to roam. Centrally located to a number of attractions such as Falling Waters, Laurel Highlands, Flight 93 Memorial. Just a great place for a getaway.”
