“We just had a weekend-long family reunion at The Fort and I was extremely impressed overall. From the beginning, Kindra and the rest of the staff were such a joy to work with. They were thorough, responsive, and so helpful in getting us set up! The venue itself is stunning and the views are unbeatable! Nothing like spending the day near the river, watching the longhorns, exploring, and ending the day with stunning sunsets. The kitchen was so well stocked and we had everything we needed to prepare meals for our large family! There’s plenty of space for everyone to lounge, play, visit, and relax. You really get more than your monies worth staying here! Thank you for hosting us for such an amazing weekend!”

“I loved staying here. Has a kitchenette that allows for budget travelers to eat efficiently while on the island. The AC was wonderful and the owners are very kind. Ed is very funny and got us cracking up a few times. The only downside I could see was that the water pressure was less than perfect. Loved it and will be visiting again!”

“Unfortunate bad reviews. The application process is long and complicated, because I think she is trying hard to make sure only quiet, respectful people who can afford their rent move in. I left Durham because of all the obnoxious and loud people. Sooo quiet and peaceful here loving my home so far.”

“Very nice lady at the office. Entrance looks really nice. Wifi works well at the office, not in the park. There is tent camping possible. I saw three tents on a nice piece of grass under some trees. Toilets and showers are dated, but clean. We stayed one night in our RV with full hookup for about 60 dollars. There is no pool or playground. I would guess that 75% of the spots are rented long-term.”

“The Bennett's property was exactly what I needed for the first few days of my trip. I was looking for some solitude right next to the water to get away from "it all" and decompress. This place was perfect! Close enough to everything, but once you were inside the gate it felt isolated. The family was warm and inviting throughout my stay. I will definitely stay on their estate again.”

“Spent the weekend for fall encampment. It was great had lots of fun for our first overnighter with the scouts and really enjoyed the teamwork that the activities provided for the kids. Seeing my son work with other kids and me being able to teach them in an amazing environment was awesome!”

“Even knowing the location,at night this business is difficult to get to. My room was clean and bed was comfortable. The door to room had to be slammed to latch. The bathroom door had been used for anger management cause it was smashed on both sides.”

“As we departed this beautiful Southeast Indiana farm to head back home, we not only left with some great memories, but we left having made two new friends. Besides just hosting us for four days in their beautiful guest house on their ranch, Russell and Karen both accommodated us all in so many unexpected ways, and treated us as if we were family. This was without a doubt our family's greatest lodging experience in many that we've done, and we can't wait to go back!”

“I just spent three days of the best upland bird hunting I’ve experienced. The fields and the birds were top-notch. My guide was Tim N. Tim was simply a pleasure and treated me as if we new each other for years! The food, the lodging and the atmosphere were all exceptional.”

“We’ve stayed here twice and will definitely come again. You can’t beat the central location, clean and air conditioned rooms, large shower, and pool! I would not come if you are afraid of dogs, but all of them are very very sweet. Love that they added mini fridges in the rooms too! Playground and pool for kids. Wonderful views and incredibly accommodating hosts.”

“We had hoped to eat at the restaurant, but were advised on arrival that it was fully booked. Thankfully, they have an outdoor seating area with pig on the spit, big wooden picnic tables, a lovely view of the mountains beyond the vineyard and friendly waiters ready to serve a wide variety of cold drinks. As we found a table and reviewed the menu, there was a musician playing on the patio behind us. After our meal of lechon tacos (which did not come with the papas and vegetables we expected), we had dessert from the sweets stand. I tried the marquesita which was an interesting combination of crispy crepe rolled up with grated cheese and condensed milk inside. Before we left, we took a stroll through the vineyard as the sun slipped behind the mountains.”

“Welcoming and restful location. The small staff make one feel as if they’re a regular with pleasant greetings and freely offering any information and guidance needed. The location Is a combination of rustic chic and vineyard resort. Simple and sustainable rooms are comfortable and restful. Nicely appointed. No TV but after an active day rest is all that one needs. Breakfast is a mix of fresh produce, property fresh Orange juice, coffee, herbal teas, local bread and cheese, local tomatoes with basil and pesto, an egg dish if desired and an amazing collection of homemade jams including some unusual and delicious local flavors. Nacho and good small team of Isaí and JoAnna make the place feel warm and welcoming. Will return”

“The park has undergone many changes. The park is a private park, very nice environment and safe to live in , we are sorry that some Tennant's complain who still live here in the park, but we try our best to accommodate everyone, if the Tennant's do not like it here they are welcome to try another park to live in..”

“Golden Sands is just a LOVELY location on the lake. The sand beach allows you to just walk into the water (or run). The swimming is delightful and the feeling of the property is warm and cozy. I felt welcome and at home, and there was pleasant conversation among the other guests. It's the same way every time I stay. The morning Kayaking was really beautiful (they are free to use) and the sunrises and quiet on the water were exquisite. The cabins (rooms) have a rustic Adirondack decor which adds to the charm of the entire property, the lake, and the area! Liz and her staff are delightful and were so accommodating. I highly recommend staying!”
