Hawks Nest RV Park & Campground

Address: 11185 Commercial Way, Brooksville, FL 34614, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“Quiet and clean. People are friendly and quite. On the rare occasion a trouble maker gets in they are quickly exited. The manager Lori is nice. The only complaint is that the wifi has been out in half the park for months now and the owner has no sense of urgency to fix it yet he raised the rent. Nothing fancy. No amenities other than bathrooms and laundry. There are only two working washers for the place as well.”

Deep Run Park & Recreation Center

Address: 9900 Ridgefield Pkwy, Richmond, VA 23233, USA

Park

“Great place, it has childrens's playground, rides, picnic spots, spots for meditation, trails through woods for walking, also big playground. Besides, beside the trails, there are some outdoor free-hand exercise stuffs like pull-up bar, hanging bar, crunch table etc. In the playground you can find people playing cricket (on Sundays) and a lot of other sports. A lot of parking spot is also here. It gets crowded but since it's a huge area, you can enjoy the nature in peace, away from crowd.”

Reverend Arthur Mackey Park

Santa Ana River Trail- mile marker sixteen

Address: Santa Ana River Trail Bikeway, Orange, CA 92865, USA

Park

“The Santa Ana River Trail mile marker sixteen is a point to remember! With the Steve Ambriz Memorial Park just a block away, it’s a back way spot into the park on foot or by bike, as well as a passage point of reference from the park and homes of the Riverbend Community, via the paths and trails. The Google Maps satellite view shows the paved park path extended past the gate and to mile marker 16. From the bike trail, the spot can be found by the spillway step along the Santa Ana River, just south of the Glassell Street bridge. It’s also next to the massive dirt mound at the RJ Noble Company, a bit north of the Lincoln Blvd Bridge. It’s always nice to stop off here and enjoy the views! The natural landscape is accentuated by the mountain views to the north. I like to see the Santa Ana River beside the trail after a storm, as the downhill water can actually form a rapids! Photo’s posted were taken safely, just before the rains, as the conditions may cause closures! While the bike path marker does little else than mark the spot, I wish there were more of a reference to the park nearby. I know as a bike rider, runner and hiker, it’s always nice to find public places to take a break, off the beaten path!”

Dog Bone Run

Address: 36 W Gun Hill Rd, Bronx, NY 10467, USA

“The park is huge, you can BBQ and there is an area with a bunch of sprinkler's for the kiddies. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Special s/o to Ashley who stayed past her shift to clean a bathroom stall because there was a long line for the bathroom. And she did it with a smile and good cheer. All in all we had a great time. Oh and best of all it's dog friendly with a dog park so the furbabies can play too . Great park😊”

Watson Island State Forest

Address: 6840 U.S. Highway 1, St. Augustine, FL 32092, USA

Park

“I remembered I was in Daytona Beach two years ago and a taxi driver told me about this forest. Then some days later I was in Saint Augustine and decided visit Watson Island State Forest. It's located in St. Johns County and the total area is not so huge as some others state forest in Fl. Indeed it includes 199 acres of Bottomland Forest, 129 acres of Wet Flatwoods. I drived there with a local resident in a suv.mitsub.all terrain. It was an awesome experience. As a matter of fact, due forecast, the weather winds changed faster in this region, so we decided return to St.Aug. and did not reach St.Johns River as we planned, unfortunately. ****”

Park

“Good fishing but a LOT of algae.”

Madison Audubon's Charles Prairie

Address: Prairie Ln, Johnson Creek, WI 53038, USA

“Birdwatchers haven. Many species breed and live here, many others migrate to and from every year. There are 2 Pokestops in this area. I believe there is an outhouse there but no running water. Bring binoculars, and picnic lunch, make an afternoon of it, and have material for later conversations. Don't be a litter bug!!”

Aliso Park Campground

Address: Aliso Park Rd, New Cuyama, CA 93254, USA

Campground Park Lodging

“End of March 2023: campground is currently closed while they clean up several down trees and a whole lot of branches that came down in the storms this winter. The bathroom was open though, it was clean but had no TP. No problem since I was actually there to hike all day. The gate was closed to the campground and we parked outside. We took the trail behind the campground all the way up to Sierra Madre road where there was snow and cold wind. The first part of the trail had many stream crossings, some of which were too wide to keep feet dry, though not deep. There were also several areas of blow down. For maybe 50 yd there would be numerous small or large trees across the trail. Some areas were very dense, and required crawling under or climbing over branches. I assume they had wind bursts during the storms. After that when we got to the open spot that has a fire circle in it (about 2 miles) we had lunch. Then we headed up the trail to the left to Sierra Madre road and that trail was in excellent condition. Quite beautiful views. I would love to come back in the spring or fall and camp at Aliso Park Campground.”

Agua Amarga Reserve

Address: Posey Way, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275, USA

Park

“Pleasant nature trail through the quiet Reserve. There are multiple entries via local neighborhoods (see map), with neighborhood street parking. Fairly short trail with spectacular ocean view along the way. There are a couple of a little steeper slopes and some uneven roads, so I’d recommend wearing hiking shoes or at least something not slippery and pay attention while walking. Generally wide trail with very few people, but there are a few narrow spots so be a nice neighbor, then everyone would be happy.”

Denia Park

“🔘 Two large playground areas. ▫️A large, shaded & fenced in playground for littles (says 2-5yr olds). ▫️One larger (partly shaded) playground area for big kids, with swings & a neat free climb structure. 🔘 Lots of large mature trees for shade & plenty of green space. 🔘 Large picnic shelter area with several tables & a grill. 🔘 Nice cement walking trails around softball fields. 🔘 Softball fields. 🔘 Basketball court. 🔘 Tennis or pickle ball court. What a great park! Kids had a blast! Super clean.”

Scobie Park

“Went there with a friend. We enjoyed sitting at the picnic tables to talk before and after walking the trail, which is well maintained and has exercises periodically for to do for extra fitness. Other people on the trail were friendly and one lady was nice to us in the right direction since it has been years since I walked and they added a short cut. I wanted the original trail and she was nice enough to point in the direction. A beautiful day to a nice leisurely walk with a friend through the woods and chat. Very peaceful and calm. I definitely got to start coming back more often, forgot how much better I feel after I walk through the trail here. 🙂”

Conover City Park

Tennis courts, playground, and outdoor workout equipment. Beautiful park and I will be back often.”
