“It's a great park, emphasis on the park because the playground is sort of small. But, if you have small kids and/or dogs, it's perfect. There are also tennis courts, basketball ball hoops, and a baseball field. There is an area for soccer but the nets are in bad shape or are missing. I'd give it 5 stars if it were better maintained, the trash was emptied regularly (it's not) and the grass wasn't so muddy. There are a lot of mature trees that brings a ton of shade but, as a result, there is poor drainage and is typically muddy.”

“This is one of the best places for meat, particularly pork. It's always fresh, and there's good prices. Their beef is usually good, but some of it is coming from Mexico. Chicken is about the same as other places. Everyone has always extremely friendly and helpful, and I love that I can get in and get out without getting lost.”

“Clean park (Disc Golf Course). I primarily go to play the 6 hole disc golf course (3 rounds). The holes are really short and perfect for putters. The tee pads are small circular slabs of concrete which with best for standstill shots. You can really improve your approach and putting game practicing here.”

“I picked up my chicks earlier this week and they are ABSOLUTELY beautiful!! Thank you so much for sharing with me the best setup for them!! It was easy and more cost-effective than a lot of other set ups. I have attached a few photos of my chicks chowing down 🐥 and the setup that Todd sent me to make sure I would be successful raising my Silkies. Todd is so friendly and knowledgeable about Silkies. Over the last 20 years I have bought chicks from other breeders and none of them have the knowledge that Todd has and was happy to share what he knew. I could tell he cared about the chicks and wanted all of them to go to a good home 😄. Todd, thank you for CORRECTLY breeding Silkies and sharing your knowledge. It was fun seeing your other animals when I picked up the chicks. “California has tons of amazing parks. Verdugo Park is pretty good with lots of spots to actually barbecue and picnic, and then there is this main area where there's a little stage and lots of picnic tables. I think there is a baseball field that is useful and plenty of open grass areas for families. I think parking can be a little bit of a challenge because the parking lot is somewhat small, but comment off times and there's usually plenty of available. There's also plenty of hiking trails around Verdugo Park.”

“This is a good summer camp if you are of a traditional Church of Christ background. The summer camps are focused more on growing spiritually than on playing games. They tend to do a good job challenging campers and helping them grow in their faith. If you are from a different church background then things may not make sense. Compared to other Christian camps, it is somewhat limited in physical space. It is predominately comprised of one open field which most activities take place in. The boys cabins are more dorm like and are not handicap accessible. The girls cabins are also dorm like and are better like but still require someone in a wheelchair to go up a fairly steep hill. The waterfront cabins are cute. They are fairly original and haven’t been updated. You can rent them throughout the off season for an affordable rate.”

“The bathrooms are gorgeous with beautiful wood stalls and the shower was nice. The pool was cool, almost cold even in July but you got used to it. You didn't mind the lack of shade because the water was so cool. The store was very nice and had useful stuff, even towels! Helpful and friendly staff. The spots are a mix of shady and sunny. That sun is hot in the summer though so I think a shady spot will feel very nice. We had a sunnier than shadier. The kids liked the jump pad too.”

“I highly recommend Tikiland for anyone looking for a loving daycare and preschool. The staff is amazing. The place has a great loving energy and everything kids love. They are taking care of the kids as if they were their own. They are always eager to share stories of what is happening during the day, share pictures, art project so we can relate at night. Our 3 years daughter loves her school, and our 1 year daughter (who started at 5 months) is really feeling at home when she is at daycare. All staff members are trained to follow kids’ cues/ schedule while teaching them so many new things every day.”
