The education curriculum is outstanding. I enjoyed my experience at Barfield from preschool to sixth grade. I'm proud to say this is where it all started. “loved this school but had to leave after my 7th grade year, most of the students are pretty nice but usually keep to there own social groups... the weird thing they do in the school is pair up the nicest teachers In the school with the meanest teachers in the school, so that kind of sucks. when I was there the staff were majority white and favored the white people much more than the others even in personal experience, I couldn't believe the staff would treat a person of color so differently like that until I witnessed it myself. but I went to that school 3 years ago so things hopefully might have changed with the staff but I wouldn't count on it.”

“I attended Ridge for all four years yes we have ups and downs like all high schools but you will not find a high school with faculty better then this one with the stereotypes facing young black men and the area where the school is located the teachers took that in and still gave 100% focus and help to the students regardless if the students wanted it or not i remember missing days of school only to get calls from my teachers telling me to get up and get here now lol they were more then just teachers of education they helped with life situations and troubles Walnut Ridge is a great school with caring and loving faculty which has made a great transformation in my four years there and I am proud of the faculty and Mr.Walker and im proud to call myself a Scot Alumni. I love everything about this daycare from the directors, teachers, how clean it is, the activities that they plan for the children, their curriculum, and how they all love the children like their own. “(I apologize for the unflattering former review that was here before. I did not actually write that. I saw notifications that people were finding it helpful, so I'm swapping it out for my actual thoughts. I am very sorry if it put anyone off.) Our child went here for several years, but we moved out of range to be able to keep taking them. We enjoyed the time we had there, the teachers are hard working, and they have several programs of interest for the students. There were frustrations, sure, but those were addressed as they occurred. Being a student is hard, but so is being a teacher. As a parent, you want assurance that your child is going to enjoy their time at school. It has a big focus on math and sciences, but the teachers do tend to get swapped around from one grade level to another which can frustrate older students. (Being taught like 3rd graders in 8th grade) There's a lot demanded of these teachers, and communication is key to making sure that your child's needs are met. I would've liked to see a few more things taken seriously, like certain teachers not making a scene in class about children being children. Micromanaging kids is frustrating, which is where we had issue with 1-2 teachers. As I said, those situations were addressed when they occurred. No issues with their other teachers, they are awesome. Please forgive the other review that was here before. It was not accurate of what my opinion is of this school.”

“My daughter transferred from a university to TVCC. The college she transferred from was a hellish nightmare to get her transcript even after I paid the bill in full! When we finally received her official transcript there were only two days left to enroll, get her classes and get financial aid in order. I was livid to say the least. Ms. Hamilton was so sweet and super helpful she would email us with updates often. Once she was enrolled Danica was AMAZING, she went above and beyond to get my daughter classes to work around her work schedule. She helped her avoid taking an unnecessary science class because another one of her transfer credits covered it. Everyone was super helpful and we got her enrolled in time for classes to start 1/21. I HIGHLY recommend this institution.”

“This school is great! The teachers are amazing! The rules are set perfectly, so you don’t have worry about bullying or anything. It’s hardly ever stressful (if you pay attention and do the work). The principal is amazing and is such a kind person! I hope I get to come back one day to see how much improvement( if there is any needed!) has been done!
