Called Steve to explain the situation and he offered to open his shop early to help me out. Most mechanics don't bother to properly troubleshoot, but with Steve's formal training at Mercedes Professional Academy, he knew exactly how to diagnose the issue quickly and not throw the old ‘parts cannon’ at it racking up unnecessary costs.
