Accordion Repair Shop San Jose

Mr. Valdet Jakubovic of Accordion Repair Shop San Jose has been a huge help to me on a number of occasions. At one point I needed to get an appraisal on a Concerto accordion. I watched as Valdet opened it with the loving care and appreciation of a master craftsman, and gave me a running commentary about its condition. He knew at a glance what kind of special reeds were in the accordion, and explained the differences between different kinds.

On other occasions I needed to rent an accordion for a couple of months, and, again, Valdet helped me out, trusting me with a fine instrument.

One of the strongest possible recommendations for Valdet is the action of Vince Cirelli's family in entrusting Mr. Cirelli's special accordion repair tools to Valdet after Mr. Cirelli passed away.

Recently an international award-winning professional accordionist friend was in the area, and related to me that a Bay Area accordionist was recommending one "Mr. Valdet Jakubovic" in San Jose for the best attention to top-of-the-line instruments. "Oh, I know Valdet very well," I told him, "he's the best!!" It's a small world indeed.

This past month, I’ve had the great pleasure of working with Valdet Jakubovic’s Accordion Repair Shop in San Jose, CA. Valdet is an old-world craftsman who did an excellent job renewing my 54-rear-old La Melodiosa Accordion.

Valdet does not have time to ship or receive instruments because he always has a backlog of accordion repair work. Luckily for me, I was able to send my instrument from my home in Colorado to my son who lives in San Jose. Valdet was most accommodating in arranging drop off and pick up. Valdet even was able to complete his work in time for my son to retrieve the accordion the day before my he to Colorado to visit me.

The accordion now plays and looks like new. Valdet also provided me with Italian leather replacement straps (as well as strap extensions, I’m afraid!) all for a very reasonable price.

I cannot recommend Valdet too highly. He did a great job for me, and I look forward to meeting him, in person, the next time I travel to San Jose.

He was able to fix my Dad's accordion, a family treasure and heirloom which we can now enjoy again! Mr. J is talented, precisely, and detailed in his work- plus a pure joy and marvel to see him perform and play the accordion with my Dad!
