“Nola's Iris Garden - located in the San Jose foothills on Sierra Road. About five acres of beautiful bearded iris, along with horse boarding facility. Nola was there greeting people, and graciously answering questions from everyone. They have a covered open patio with chairs and benches overlooking the gardens and view of the valley below. You may bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the afternoon, take as many photos as you want..this is free and open to the public for a few months in Spring. You may add your email to their mailing list, and may purchase irises after the season is over. I believe there were light refreshments, and you may make a donation in appreciation of your experience. We donated 10.00...well worth it!! Thank you Nola for sharing a little piece of heaven.”

“Recently moved to the area from Santa Cruz . Quaint small village feel and this store is at the center of redwood estates commerce. Realistically, the whole Bay Area is ridiculously overpriced of which those who staked a claim decades ago are reaping rewards from the techno transplants. I’d take the Anglo property rights over digital slavery but apparently the Master of the Universe has other plans for me ... my rent is super high combined with most free income poured into a divorce I don’t have much disposable income. That said, walking to a place for shopping is more than convenient. This store has good variety. Many organic and vegan options. Overpriced though (like everything in the area) and in need of upgrading the refrigeration and a remodel. With what is charged it really should be a customer mandate but the shop gets away with skimping because it is the only one around for miles”

“I have been going to Mission Fitness Boot Camp now for almost two years. I was going to gym 4-5 days a week and felt like I was not getting anywhere. A friend recommended I come out and try the bootcamp. It was nothing like I imagined it to be. The group of woman there came in all shapes and sizes. All the woman there were so supportive and enthusiastic. I didn't feel intimidated at all. Lindsay was great in helping me with my form and level I should start out at. Today, I feel great, lost close to 42 pounds and feel strong. All of this in the great outdoors of Leland High School in the mornings! I recommend Mission Fitness Bootcamp to all woman in Almaden Valley! Don't worry about your size or ability...that is what the bootcamp is for!! ”

In the spring, beautiful wildflowers and other native plants, in including some interesting big berry manzanita with berries the size of small plums. Good bird watching (saw warblers, hummingbirds, acorn woodpeckers, and raptors while there). Nice views. Parking, water and flush toilets at parking lot.”

“Very thankful to have found this gem of a preschool for our daughter. The staff is so warm and welcoming and the class size is not too large making it feel more personal. Our daughter started school here during a bit of a transitional period. We had just moved to the area, she was transferred out of her old preschool, and we had a new baby on the way. Some days were a bit challenging for her yet staff was very helpful and understanding. I really can’t say enough good things about this place! Thank you!”
