“Some of the best fishing around especially for the kids. It gets cold down here sometimes so bring your coat. While dad has his rod out waiting on a monster, set the kids up with light tackle and there's enough Shaker bass out there to keep them interested,an they can easily blow through a bag of anchovies. There are big grass areas for kids and pets to run around in picnic tables and BBQ Pit setup for that bbq. Nice views with bathrooms and fish cleaning station this place is good for anything from birthday parties to family day out fishing or a stroll.”

“We come here with friends, set up a shared site and feel like we have our own little slice of Heaven all to ourselves. The beach is clean and almost completely empty of people. The campground has been really quiet, probably because its mid week. Wishing for more sun this trip, but still any day at the edge of the Ocean is a good one, right???”

“Great place for its closeness to the ocean. You can no longer have fires in the rocks. Bring a portable pit. Some people have fires because the don't read the rules.”

“Very nice park, still in new status, plenty of room to have parties, fly kites, volleyball, disc golf. Gets windy at times since higher elevation and nothing to block the wind. Big play ground for kids and clean restrooms but of course not lots of parking, reservations are required for gazebos”

“Great park! Thank you City of San Diego. The kids love it.”

“Great park. Especially since it's still fairly new. Great for toddlers and bigger kids. Only dislike is the shades. While they are pretty, they give 0 shade therefore it can get pretty hot on a warm day, providing zero protection.”

“The people working here are very committed and dedicated to keeping this wetland healthy, and sustaining it so it can keep serving us and the environment. There is an interesting and complex background to this estuary, and information on how climate change affects the future of this wetland, it is worth the time to come and learn more about this place. Also the wetland is gorgeous, and has a walking and bike trail.”

“Great park to hang out with the family. Little league fields are really well maintained and the snack bar has some great food to choose from. With in the park they also have a super cool skate park which adds to the list of activities to do while you're there”

“Amazing place where you can see really close sea lions.”

“Five stars if parking wasn't such a hassle but SD itself is overpopulated. Who doesn't want to see wildlife up close and personal ? Located right by la Jolla cove you can walk to see sea lions ! These friendly mainly docile and warm creatures are so open and chill. This is a huge tourist attraction and for the everyday Californian who loves sea life. The park itself always has fun activities going on and great scenic areas to take photos with the entire family.”

“If you're all about sea lions and seals, this is your spot. You can see them swimming in the ocean, you can see them flopping across the rocks, they're to your left, they're to your right, they're at your feet, you can see them, smell them, hear them. They're literally so close you can touch them. So if you have kids, friends, family, coworkers, neighbors who love these creatures, send them here - you can't go wrong. My daughter says this was her favorite thing about California - ever.”

“It's beautiful and chill. Perfect for a relaxed beach day out. The water is great for swimming and snorkeling. Sometimes there is a little seaweed invasion, but usually it's alright. You can sometimes see little tiger sharks swimming very close staying near the sea floor. But nothing to worry, they always keep to themselves.”

“A very nice beach to take your family to. It is a good place to watch the sunset. It seems like at the end of the day, part of the beach gets shut down for only surfing but it was no big deal. The sand is really nice also.”

“This area of Southern California is one of the prettiest in the state. This vistas are breathtaking and the gorgeous torqois blue and green ocean is the best anywhere. The ever changing seascapes are studded by tons of slowly eroding rocks that are often the perches for resting pelicans, shore birds, harbor seals, and sea lions. You can often see spectacular ocean sprays, beautiful underwater sea grass sanctuaries, a nice cove, wonderful tide pools, and much more. There are no parking lots, so prepare to hunt and wait for a steet side spot to open. Note: La Jolla residents are quite impatient and can be rather rude behind the wheel.”

“It's a beautiful park with lots of open space, several benches, and multiple picnic tables. The area is well-maintained and is a wonderful place to let a dog get some exercise, let kids play on the playground, or have a picnic.”

“Usual trail for the weekend. Be careful as there is more vegetation since the rain, so more chances of meeting creatures you don't want to. Take lots of water. I'd say stick to the trail, but at times it's hard to find it, so do your best. Its an in and out trail so don't expect to complete a loop unless you want to end up 10 miles away from where you started. The roadwork also limits the connections to Marian bear.”
