“I love it here. When it is not busy with huge family parties or the people who live in their RVs in the parking lot, it is a quaint place to relax or walk the dogs. Watching the boats come in and out as well as the fishing off the tiny pier is also calming. Easy parking and many eating places on the other side of the freeway to being for a picnic, or the Waterfront has incredible food. Have a nice visit!”

“Nice beach with a bunch of kelp washed ashore. Definitely very calm and not a lot of people around. Perfect to come sunbathe if you’re looking to have some privacy on the weekends. The bathrooms are close by the parking lot for easy access. The beach is also very clean.”

“I love this nature walk! It is deceptively huge, with tons to offer for walkers, joggers, runners, dog walkers, bikers and more. The flowers here are gorgeous right now (May) and there are both flat and hilly sections for a variety of difficulty levels. Great views of USD, mission Bay, and just great nature in general. The nature center is also very nice. Watch out in some areas for poison oak, but otherwise check out this great trail!”

“Easy trail for toddler. Jogging stroller only. All dogs were on leash so it's safe for the littles. Plenty of areas for little ones to explore safely off the trail. Recently there is also lots of mud puddles but still a great little walk.”

“Having driven all over the city and county of Los Angeles, South Los Angeles County is my favorite area to work and play in. The streets are wider and less crowded than West L.A., parking is still available on the streets, less apartments and more houses. The homes are usually on big lots, with long driveways where 4 -5 cars can fit, along with a garage. Restaurants and movie theaters, parks and schools are usually in areas where the parking is free and spacious. I can walk to the supermarket in my neighborhood as well as the drug store and local food places. While I love the view of the ocean, for everyday living South Los Angeles County is the place to be.”

“Great venue for Bingo on during the day on Friday only. One particular table of participants is always loudly talking, and you can't hear numbers called. Also people are answering phones during bingo. Large rummage sale each year, and other events daily. Mostly Spanish Speaking, or Philipino.”

“Great little neighborhood park. It has a very nice fenced in play area, a short nature trail and it is a dog-friendly park. So far everyone I’ve ever encountered there is friendly. I love it! Things to know: • There are plenty of trees and plants • A sidewalk type trail • A few picnic benches • Dog-Friendly (so be aware that there are dogs off-leash) • No bathrooms but they do have a porta-potty Play area • It has a soft rubberized ground covering • It has multiple sized slides • It has two regular swings and two toddler type swings • Plenty of structures to climb on • No shade inside the fence • I recommend bringing a blanket to sit on if you want to sit inside the play area as there are no benches or tables inside the fence. You can sit on the rubber surface but it can be dirty at times.”
