“I was glad to have an opportunity to visit Dan’s grove on a recent trip to CA. It’s a great memorial to a great guy, and I enjoyed seeing the park he loved. Thanks to whoever put it on Google Maps.. I don’t think we would have found it otherwise. The walking directions lead right to the spot. The cell service is spotty up there, so be sure to figure out directions before you head up.”

“This is a great Campground if you're looking to do a two-day sea to Summit backpack trip. Or just a simple backpacking trip in the Portola redwoods or big Basin Redwoods State Parks. Keep in mind there is no water at this Campground. Fortunately we were there after the recent rains and were able to pump water off the side of the road from a ditch. Without this ditch we would have had to hike two miles to opal Creek to pump water. We used a great guy for a shuttle service and paid him $100 a person. Feel free to message me if you would like his contact information for a shuttle.”

“Great hike! Followed the Jackson Flats trail up and the fire road/Mill Ox trail down, 5.5 miles, moderate difficulty, 2.5 hours. Watch out for California newts and banana slugs underfoot. Look up at redwoods and Douglas fir. If it is clear you have good vistas at the top. Muddy and moderately slippery so wear good boots.”

“This was the best picnic table ever. The way it just stayed there. It didn't brag, cuss, and didn't interrupt me. Such a good bench. That's what I call him. Were close like that now. He even holds thing for me, and I don't even have to ask. Man, if I were a tree, the things I WOOD do. He doesn't move around much though. I feel kind of bad. Maybe I'll get him wheels for Christmas.”

“Golden eagle trial is good for a short hike with kids. The view of the bay and cows around are great. The trail is not too steep either. It gets muddy during wet patches also watch out for cow dung along your way. I suggest this trail for people that want to start hiking with kids.”

“Great little park. Good jungle gym, swings for little ones, access to the school track. I was a kid in this neighborhood 40 years ago and what is now the park started out as a pile of dirt we used as a bike jump at the edge of school property. They did a nice job making of value to the community out of it”
