“One of my favorite beaches in San Diego County, its not ridiculously over populated or crowded depending on the time of year and day. Summer months when school is out is if course, a but more busy, but the beach is very much enjoyable and calming. The beach spans a good part of Carlsbad and is surrounded with cute shops, restaurants, parks, lodging, and a cute walkable downtown area. Almost everything else is within walking distance. When I lived in Orange County, Carlsbad was one of the places I’d venture off to, as it’s a good place to visit to refresh, relax and rejuvenate, and it was only a short 45 min drive on the 5 south. Its a nice little day trip and I really miss having easy and quick accessibility to a city like Carlsbad.”

“This is one of my most favorite places to fish! The water is so beautiful and the current is really strong! I've caught halibut and Rockfish here. The people who come here are really really nice. Every time I fish here I really enjoyed it”

“It’s a great place to go fishing, take photos, walk your pets , do you picnics, and ride kayaks. Be careful on the beach side, lots of broken glass on the rocks and on the path. In the summertime it’s exploding with fish. You can catch all sorts of species from shore. WARNING : ((do NOT go kayaking in the beachside lagoon with the oyster beds, and white Seabass hatchery.))”

“Carlsbad state beach is the relaxation zone. Grab a spot on this beach and enjoy the suns nice rays. Lots of friendly faces and people to enjoy and share this beach with. Pets are allowed. There's volleyball nets and a constant lifeguard on duty during the day. A nice set of stairs was added to accommodate the incoming and outgoing flow of people. There's always a few helicopters or planes flying by but that's expected when theres a military base not too far away. Have fun, be safe and enjoy the calming ocean and its waves. Peace. Love. Enjoy life! Bring people who will enjoy it with you. And bring people who you enjoy!”

“This was an absolutely gorgeous hike. The beach was small and not suitable for swimming. Stunning views. The hike itself was not particularly difficult either. The drive to the trail was also beautiful and we saw elk and coyotes along the way as well.”

“A nice quick trail to reach the beach. It takes 20 to 30 min and it's adapted for everyone (path well marked, no elevation). You can make a fire on the beach if you get a permit from the rangers before. It's usually not crowded.”
