“A fun historic East Bay site. Also free to visit. The John Muir house is in good shape and has some interesting rooms/history/artifacts. I believe it is 3 or 4 stories with the attic. You are allowed to walk around most areas. There is also a small guest house at the back of the property you can visit. Worth a quick visit if you're in the area.”

“I've visited the park several times since being in the area. Usually there are only one or two other cars in the lot. The people I did encounter have been very pleasant. The trails are nice and wide for hiking. The bike riders I was with said the bike trails were very "flowy". Very little debris to stumble over. Saw lots of hawks, an eagle and turkeys as well as song birds. In October, not many flowers and things are browning, but the beautiful views of the surrounding hills, the bay and bridge more than make up for it. Great place to enjoy the peace of the woods or climb to the hills and get your heart rate up. I think it is really nice that there are grills and picnic tables available. Next time, I'll bring lunch.”

“One of my fave trails. It’s about 5miles round trip. It’s got a pretty good elevation gain too. This trail is also connected to Sycamore and also Chumash trail if you’re looking for a workout more than 5miles. The trail is very well maintained. Lots of pretty wild flowers after a big rain”

“Friendly neighbors on the beach the only thing is PCH is buzzing around right behind you but if you're not super sensitive to sounds then the ocean tide helps drown it out. Enjoyed making a bonfire nightly and waking up on the beach in our tiny two man tent. Bench and firpit are complimentary in the $35/night stay if you want quieter perhaps Sycamore campground we just visited didn't stay there.”

“Beautiful beach but its cobblestone so you can't really walk with your feet in the water. Expect a little uphill hike on the way back, nothing strenuous though. The trail doesn't have a sign but it's the one at the very end near a bathroom. Enjoy!”

“Loved the garden and the Memorial Building. It's a good walk through the garden and up to the memorial building. Beautiful view of the ocean from the memorial building. Only thing that left me wondering was... what was the Memorial building used for? Was it ever used for anything? There is no sign that explains that information.”
