“Nice park with a large grass field. Has a nice playground, restrooms, drinking fountain and a small parking lot. One Gazebo and picnic tables. Good place to play sports. Park hours are approximately sunrise to sunset. Bring an umbrella and a blanket and you'll have a nice picnic in the park. It is pet friendly just remember to clean up after your four legged friends.”

“If you wonder what the coast line looked like before human settlement, just have a wonder around here. Very fortunate to have a fabulous natural resource nestled in between two over developed expensive property areas. Whether you enjoy meandering spacious fire roads or the challenges of a single track, this is a most convenient haven for this. The smell of wild sage is everywhere. The flora is mostly brush and cacti. So be prepared to be exposed to sun and wind. Being in nature, always be careful where you step and sit.”

“I love this park, and have been here many times. Many trail options. There's not a lot of shade, however, so be ready for that. No bathroom also, and limited parking spaces. No handicap access. I would rank it as a moderate trail, lots of up and downs.”

“It's a gem of a park. They have a nice little dog play area. The path can connect to India Basin Park, with a cool history of the area along the path describing it from the late 1800s to now. Good place to see shorebirds. Also close to Bay Natives nursery. I hope the park doesn't get discovered by more people. Super nice and chill.”

“Part of this park is not in a regulated airspace so you can fly a drone. The unregulated space extends from about the playground to Portola/ Rattlesnake Reservoir but most of it above residential private property so the trail can be use to fly a drone. Not much space but no need to call local helipads (like anyone does anyways). Still, check your maps and fly safely. ????”

“We live near Walnut Canyon Reservoir. I typically run or walk the periphery trail 3x/week. The trail is 1.7 miles. It's my favorite place to run because the trail is paved and fairly level except a few areas with mild grades. The area and scenery are beautiful with lots of waterfowl, e.g. ducks and geese, and the occasional hawk, eagle, or owl. You'll often see cottontail rabbits and occasionally come across coyotes at dawn and dusk so you'll want to either have a walking/running companion or carry mace. The neighbors and fellow trail walkers are friendly and welcoming. The views on clear days are beautiful; you can even see downtown Los Angeles in the distance. Be careful on windy days, e.g. Santa Ana winds, as you walk the trail over the earthen dam since the winds funnel over the dam and become stronger. Walnut Canyon Reservoir is definitely a plus in the Anaheim Hills area.”

“Excellent hiking trail! A hidden gem on the way to LA. Only an hour and fifteen minutes away from Bakersfield. It starts out as simple grassland with only a few shrubs but quickly becomes heavily forested the further you go on the trail.”
