Silver Moccasin Trailhead

Address: Unnamed Road, Palmdale, CA 93550, USA

Park

“There are very nice hikes from this trailhead. To the North, you'll head uphill through forest and the trail will lead you first to the Chilao day use area and then further on to the Horse Flats campground. To the South, you'll end up in the Charlton Flats picnic area and on to Vetter Mt. The trail to the South is also a nice hike but is still mostly damaged by the 2009 Station Fire. The Charlton Flats picnic area was spared from the fire and still has many trees. This trailhead is within walking distance to the Chilao campground and makes for nice hikes on your weekend camping trip :)”

The Henry Cook Lookout Point

Address: Overlook Trail, Burbank, CA 91504, USA

Park

“I must say I was very impressed by the quality and beauty of the Henry Cook Lookout Point. I read all the other reviews and was wary when I heard “Oh, this place rocks!” and “I love it!” In my experience I’ve often been let down by reviews like this when I go to the actual location. I can happily say that it is not so with the Henry Cook Point. The trail was moderate, and within a half an hour I reached the point. It was stunning. The entire valley laid out beneath me. My wife and I sat down for at least 15 minutes on the benches and admired the view. To be quite frank, it’s hard to find a view like this in Burbank. We didn’t even have to walk that far; like I said it was a moderate trail. Thank you very much to the City of Burbank for establishing such a beautiful trail. I hope to return very soon!!
