“I was a mess when I walked into Dr Hirshorn office. I had been run off the road while on my motorcycle by a huge dump truck. I slammed into the side of a mountain in NC. I broke many bones including my neck and shattered my femur. I was in a coma for a couple weeks followed by a month in the hospital. Durning my stay they tried to repair my femur. All they managed to do was make a complete mess out of it. Ran screws through the ball of my hip and into the hip joint putting me in unbearable pain, a leg several inches short. And not able to walk for a year! I was depressed, in pain and without hope. Dr. Hirshorn took one look at my X-rays then looked at me and said I live to fix people like you! I am 6 weeks out and already walking with one crutch and eyeballing the cane sitting in the corner. I will be forever grateful and can’t thank the doctor enough for giving me my life back!”

I interviewed many after my first hip surgery was messed up by another Doctor, but I knew upon talking with Dr Bolhofner that he was extremely experienced and knowledgeable. His bedside manner is makes you feel you are in good hands. The staff is always very courteous and professional. Must recommend that anyone with hip problems only see Dr Bolhofner. “Dr. Canizares appears knowledgeable and highly skilled, but most importantly he knows how to communicate and connect with patients. My teenage daughter, who is a dancer, came to Dr. Canizares to evaluate her knee. After the initial appt. we had a follow up from an MRI. He reviewed the MRI, and then asked us if we had any further questions. He had explained and showed us everything on the MRI in detail, so we were good with the medical aspect of the visit. My daughter then hesitatingly asked him about his medical career path, as she told him she dislikes school but is intrigued by the mechanics of the body and what he does as a surgeon. He sat with her for at least 15 minutes and gave her sound, solid, reasonable advice about pursuing goals in college once she graduates from high school next year. He made her feel so important and gave her a perspective that she highly regarded. With only two office visits, I already have a deep respect for him as he was not only timely and knowledgeable, but he has a strong commitment to his craft, and he passed along some of his infectious enthusiasm to a young lady who needed somebody to give her the encouragement to pursue what interests her instead of disenchanting her on the difficulties of medical school.
