“It's a mystery to me how come this park and all other great parks in Port St. Lucie are not more visited. Oak Hammock park is great, just perfect for a weekend morning stroll, dog walk, gathering your thoughts, relaxing, breathing fresh air, staying away from the humid Florida heat, etc. Lots of shadow and trails for a half an hour up to 1H walk. And there is water there too! Would recommend to anyone.”

“I like to go to this park for the Woodstock Arts and Crafts Festival. It's small compared to other Broward Parks. The only reason I gave the park a 4 besides its size, is because it isn't dog friendly. I love bringing my small dog with me to parks and have been told he's not allowed :(”

“Nice campground with lots of shade trees, and plenty of room in between campsites so you don't feel crowded in! You can hear chimpanzees and lions from the campground! The drive through safari next door is definitely worth the visit. They provide rental cars so you don't have to take your own rig through.”

“My husband and I met our kids and granddaughter there. This time of year is just perfect! We had the best time. We loved watching the chimpanzees from the car and getting up close and personal with the giraffes! I got some really great photos with the giraffes. I definitely recommend coming here, especially in the winter!”

“It was a good time! Lots of animals to see. At first I was a little taken back by the admission. But after the safari there in a walking safari(mini zoo) with rides and paddle boats. all in cluded in the price of admission. Really cool experience took my wife and 6 yr old daughter we all had a blast.”

“Veteran's Park is a wonderful hidden gem. It's a delightful place to bring the children to play on the gym or wade in the splash area. There are picnic tables for a quiet lunch and many areas to just rest, meditate and commune with nature. They have packed a lot in to a small area. They show free movies and have concerts. You can rent an area for a function. The grounds are well maintained. I was disappointed that the area reserved for veterans is small but perhaps it's the thought that counts.”

“I went to Westgate Park for my daughter's birthday! She had an awesome day here! 2 different playgrounds and swings, fitness equipment, pavilion with lots of picnic tables and 2 grills, a few benches around the playgrounds for sitting, gated splash park next to the playgrounds with picnic tables and benches, open grass area for playing, basketball courts, and nice and clean air conditioned restrooms with lots of space. One playground has astro turf and the other has wood chips. What a hidden gem! Will definitely go back and highly recommend!”

“A beautiful little wilderness area in the midst of growing sprawl. Very primitive, but a great place for a short little hike in an original Florida ecosystem. If you're looking for fancy, this isn't it. But if a simple getaway from the new Florida, this is for you.”

“This is a beautiful nature preserve. The walk along the bridge/trail is gorgeous and you can see so many varieties of wildlife and plants. The lake view is gorgeous and peaceful. The education center is full of information and helpful people. This is one of our family's favorite places to enjoy nature.”

“Great for the kids ????????????”

“Normally great fishing! But I believe for the past month or so there's been a great deal of hydrilla. It's also a really nice place to picnic. My husband and I live just a couple blocks down and we ride our bikes quite frequently in this area as well as the Lakefront Park when there is no construction. You'll have to drive the back way to get to the actual Lakefront Park because Lake Shore Drive is closed for renovation. Lakefront Park is a lot prettier and wonderful 4 get-togethers, playing at the playground. Several Pavilions are available. The restrooms are very very clean. They do have a nice concession stand for quick snacks, Pizza, hot dogs, barbecue sandwiches, and of course ice cream for the kids. It is very easy to find. The fishing is very nice here as well. Enjoy if you're in the mood for a nice relaxing day. No alcoholic beverages and smoking areas are limited. Which I personally think is great seen it is a family environment.”

“Beautiful park. Very peaceful. Lots of forest. Has a doggie park, a kid's play area where you can also BBQ. It has a trail where you can walk, in addition to exercise equipment like a ellipticaland others. Really nice to take a walk alone or with your loved ones, your puppy or to exercise. Enjoy!!”
