“I like this place. It has a small track to ride a mountain bike around in. Plus an open feild to do what ever. The only problem that I have with it its rarely maintained. So the grass usually gets very high for a good chuck of the year. Plus the city uses it for staging areas for big projects nearby. For example a few years ago they sent all the yard waste there from all the hurricanes to burn it. And right now (mid sept 2019) they have some construction vehicles and misc. Items there. Not sure if they are updating the park or using it for a nearby project.”

“It's an excellent hike I don't know if it's just me but I pulled in prematurely into a Ranger workstation where there were people working behind closed doors that were of no help at all. Make sure it says Marshall swamp trailhead before you pull in and then it's a wonderful Wilderness nature trail. I would bring mosquito spray all year as I was hiking in November and there were mosquitoes everywhere. Wonderful hike lots of nature”

“We camped about 20 minutes from Hidden Pond in December. It was really nice being able to swim and refill drinking water. It got pretty chilly hammocking at 40 degrees, but at least there were no mosquitoes! This is my favorite place to camp so far, and we're coming back in a few months.”

“Shh! Don't tell anyone about this place. Wouldn't want it ruined. It should remain the most secretive and mysterious place in natural Florida.”

“Central Florida nature at its finest can be found kayaking on Juniper Springs. This 6 mile paddling adventure has beautiful palms and Cypress trees around every turn. The cool, fresh water carries you along and demands that you stay alert as you get buffeted by the current. After a bit over halfway, you'll have an exciting rapid to run through, and then the tree canopy disappears with vistas of tall marshland grasses. Turtles will be found showing off their painted faces and legs, before belly-flopping into the water as you approach. The gators are hidden (mostly), but there's lots of birds and the every so often butterfly. Enjoy a beautiful step back in time.”

“I love this park. The playground is fenced so no worries with the water so close. The trail around has benches, there is a dock, and bridges to turtle spot from. They sometimes do movies in the park and I attended one and no ants bit me sitting on grass so I was pleased.”

“This is a BIG park! There were a couple of men fishing in a lake & having great luck, too! I had parked under some Oak trees to eat my lunch. It was nice & quite even with some kids playing around a truck close by me. Enjoyed watching some birds, one in particular following the 2 fishermen; waiting for HIS lunch!! A beautiful spot for lunch!”

“Joined together about 6 youth groups and had a blast. The ropes were fun and the food was good. It's a beautiful place, and the cabins were clean and the mattresses did just fine. We liked the water sports and the zip lining too. The facilities were great for large group and we went outside to the picnic tables for small group time. Lovely place.”

“I've been camping here for years, starting when my sons were little. Quiet little primitive camping spot with HUGE sites set in a beautiful oak hammock. Some could easily hold 5-10 tents. There are only 6 spots and they are far enough apart that it seems like you are by yourself (sites are on average 50-100 yards from each other. Bathrooms could be better, but compared to the Porto-potty they used to have, they are adequate. Bring everything you need, including firewood...none can be scavenged from the woods. Never had any trouble with either the people or the animals, but I have seen a bear or two while hiking.”

“As a local I've enjoyed this beautiful hidden gem my whole life. No parking so you'll have to walk, nearest parking off van Avenue is McElroy park/ Van Alder dog park around the corner. Very quiet & peaceful. No one is usually there when I've gone in the evening or the early morning. I have passed by & one or two people sitting on the bench enjoying the view or fishing. Leashed dogs welcome. At the entrance you'll find a dog waste station. I absolutely recommend this place to relax at any time of day!”
