“I remembered I was in Daytona Beach two years ago and a taxi driver told me about this forest. Then some days later I was in Saint Augustine and decided visit Watson Island State Forest. It's located in St. Johns County and the total area is not so huge as some others state forest in Fl. Indeed it includes 199 acres of Bottomland Forest, 129 acres of Wet Flatwoods. I drived there with a local resident in a suv.mitsub.all terrain. It was an awesome experience. As a matter of fact, due forecast, the weather winds changed faster in this region, so we decided return to St.Aug. and did not reach St.Johns River as we planned, unfortunately. ****”

“The new telescopic binocular viewers and a few benches have been added in the last few months. This makes a great NASA launch viewing spot even better! You can see all the launchpads of Kennedy Space Center very well from here.”

“Absolutely huge dog park with more than enough room to run until they're tired. Some shady areas and benches to sit while they play. They also have agility equipment and a training area which I haven't utilized with my little guy yet. He loved it so much I almost had to drag him out. So happy to have this space for him so close to our new home.”

“After 9am they unlock the Heated pool, yes, really. It was like going into bath water awesome! Work on tan. 25Mbit upload speed internet at the Lodge. Nice folks. Good place to stay. Almost no car traffic, safer to walk and jog in the mornings/evenings. Some mild, long slopes for running.”

“This wasn't always the Great Park it is now. But it's great now! After school care, movies in the park, children's football. What they really really need though is a splash pad, and a dog run!”

“What a nice park! I read reviews saying they were unsure what to expect, and I felt exactly the same. Unsure, and then quite happy with it! The small visitor's center provided enough geological and historic information to make the park much more interesting. The trail book provided gave lots of information on both the quarry site and the trees/geological features. We also met a friendly park ranger on one of the trails who gave us an explanation of the different types of mangroves. We did the Windley and Quarry trails as well as the Hammock trail. Lots of sun on the Quarry trail, obviously, more shady on the Hammock trail. The Hammock trail also had more mosquitoes and many large orb weavers. Very cool if you're into that sort of thing.”

“A great little park where I walk my two dogs. I sometimes launch or land my hot air balloon here too!”

“As clean as it will be but if they were able to clean up the beach and get rid of the sea grass as it builds up along the waters edge I'd say it's fantastic for a private beach for paying customers. The price would definitly cover for the cleanup and removal of the shoreline at waters edge for this process. And have that as a regular thing. Because seeing it as built up is a eye sore and could turn away people from actually swimming.”

“Park is up to date but the neighborhood is something another thing. Lots of broken down house and tons of cars on the lawn. Picked up a lot of garbage in the park. Small but would be nice for kids if adults cleaned up after themselves and the houses around were so sketchy.”

“Local walking and jogging path only. Currently, there are no benches, no restrooms, no playground, and very few trees along the path. Dogs are NOT allowed in this park, as this is primarily for residential walkers. The concrete is cracked up and uneven throughout the path.”

“Be aware that this is not a public park, it is a facility for the residents of the Waterset Community. There is a dog park, playground, and a splash pad with restrooms. These all require a badge to access. The lake offers a trail.foe walking and biking that is about a one mile loop.”

“I noticed that Sunview park has not had the fields on the e. 18th St. mowed in quite some time. The area is unusable. Today, I noticed that Sunview Park has been mowed. It really looks like a park now. Thank you! Nice job!”

“Camped at Big Flats with my family the weekend of April 15th. The campsite is very nice with a fair amount of shade in the spots. The sites are a little small compared to other state parks, but not tiny. They are trying to grow new foliage between the sites and it was pretty clear there was a lot of damage to the trees from Hurricane Ian in 2022. The host, Peter, was friendly and helpful. Other campers were respectful of the quiet time. Bathrooms were dated but very clean. I would stay here again but probably wait until the weather is cooler as it was very hot in the day and there is no water area like a lake or spring to cool off. The Myakka Lake is FILLED with gators so there is no swimming. Incredible sunsets from just down the street over Big Flat Marsh where we saw deer, turkey and gators.”

“Trail is in as good as expected conditions. River flooding leaves debris in its wake, you can observe. the high water marks on trees. I like to call it real world Florida. Unlike state parks where grass is manicured, trails are paved, with signs for all the do's and don'ts. Wildlife is plentiful I have saw deer, hogs, song birds, birds of prey. Grandson loves the fishing catfish and panfish also bass and snook. We love it well maybe not the blood sucking flying insects.”

“Alpine Groves Park is a hidden gem in Fruit Cove, Florida. It is a small park with a lot to offer, including a beautiful riverfront, a historic home, a butterfly garden, and a playground. The riverfront is my favorite part of the park. There is a long pier that extends out over the water, and you can often see dolphins swimming by. There are also several benches along the river where you can relax and enjoy the scenery. The historic home is also worth a visit. It was built in the early 1900s, and it is now used for community events. The butterfly garden is small, but it is home to a variety of butterflies. The playground is a great place for kids to play. It has a variety of equipment, including swings, slides, and a climbing structure. Overall, Alpine Groves Park is a great place to visit for a relaxing afternoon. It is a peaceful and scenic park with something to offer everyone.”
