“I’ve been meaning to write about Gordy’s for a while because I love them so much. They are truly, truly honest mechanics and they have given me and my wife so much peace of mind when it comes to our cars. Over the past few years, we have taken our cars to Gordy’s for a variety of issues. They fix most problems for reasonable prices and they give clear, detailed explanations of what is wrong and what needs to be done. If they can’t fix a problem, they will quickly tell you and give good advice about who can fix it. They do have a diagnostic fee for some stuff, but there are times that I’ve explained an issue and they’ve sent me on my way without charging me if they can’t fix it. Recently, my wife had a tire puncture and she had to take her car to a national chain because it was after normal business hours. They wanted to charge her for a replacement tire, but when she took the car to Gordy’s the next day, they plugged the tire in about five minutes. It cost us a fraction of what a new tire would have. I was out of town, so it meant a lot to me that my wife could take her car to a place that we trust where I knew she would get an honest assessment. That level of reassurance is rare with any business, much less a mechanic‘s shop. We will be loyal Gordy’s customers for life after our many, many wonderful experiences with them.”

“Needed a headlight bulb and there was no wait at the counter. Gentleman helped me right way and directed to what I needed. I changed it in the parking lot and went on my way. It was simple and easy as this location is very near my job. I stop here fro. Time to time and it is hit or miss with service but this was a good experience. This chain is typically good for part selection and their costs are fairly reasonable.”

“In a small town like Fresno, there are an abundance of noodle shops. I recently visited ngo cafe the second time around and was amazed at the new renovation, looks like a swanky modern noodle shop like the ones I see in San Jose and Los Angeles. It looks a bit out of place in McKinley’s Asian market but maybe this is a start of new beginnings when it comes to making this part of Fresno more inviting and will drive more customers there. I had the bun rieu soup, the broth was a little thin and had a more porky flavor but overall it was good, especially for being one of the only restaurants here that offer this type of noodle bowl. They also recently added a hot pot menu, which I have yet to try. What I like most about this place are the Vietnamese dessert drinks.”

“I was referred to Speedway Auto and the owner Horace was professional and walked me through the process of getting my car towed to the shop. Insurance company attempt to totalled my car out but the owner assured me that my car was repairable. So I was able to talk my insurance company from totalling my car out...3 weeks later my car was fixed and looked like it never been in an accident. I had my car for a month after repairs and I do not have any issues. The car was repaired so good that I forgot I even had an accident. I will always used them from now on. Thank you Speedway!”

“Temple Bar is a venerable neighborhood bar on Cass in mid-town Detroit that has the dive-y feel you are looking for. A variety of clientele will certainly pique your interest. Live shows too. A mere two blocks away, Temple is a great place to go before or after a hockey game at Little Caesers Arena. This a great bar for a quiet night to just hang out. It's small, personal, and just fun. No fancy tables or servers or expensive drinks, just a classic, local bar with friendly people. The bartenders are so cool and chill. Definitely a great place to go after an event at the LCA!”
