Park

“Nice. Crushed limestone path. Not much shade. Fairly level. Bathrooms (outhouse style) near the parking lot. Dogs allowed on leash. Some benches located around the path. It's roughly a 3 mile circular path. Depending on the season you can see Sun Lake. But, it's a glacial lake with a fragile ecosystem so you won't get too close to it.”

“Nice spot for a walk and well taken care of by the forestry Dept. Dog cleanup bags, trash bins, and bathrooms are available. good playground for kids. There are two loops, a 2 mile paved walk around the lake and a 1 mile walk that is sand/gravel. Both are very easy to walk. I was here in the winter but I can imagine it's a great place to see wildlife during warmer weather.”

Forest View Park

Address: 513 Forest View Rd, Lindenhurst, IL 60046, USA

“I like the fact that they added a little bike lane (though it's honestly completely useless), considering how Lindenhurst and the surrounding areas aren't bike-friendly. There isn't too much to do at this park, it always seems empty. They did replace the raggedy tennis courts with something for kids which is nice. Soccer and baseball games are a big thing here, but otherwise it's empty.”

The times I've gone it was crowded.”

Bonner Heritage Farm

Address: 201 Country Pl, Lindenhurst, IL 60046, USA

“A nice example of a complete farmstead. It's nice that they preserved it rather than simply razing the structures to create a bigger subdivision. Farms like this used to be the norm in Lake County.”

Waukegan Savanna Forest Preserve

Address: Townline Rd, Waukegan, IL 60087, USA

Park

“The food at Bob Chin's is generally very good. The fish is fresh and well prepared. Not the cheapest restaurant, but you get what you pay for. Not a place to go for a lot of atmosphere. It's a big place and a bit like eating in a warehouse. The people who seat you use radios. Service is good, and the staff know the menu. Salad bar is good, but extra. Can be very crowded on weekends, but during the week is better.”
