“I walk my dog here a lot. No issues. Park does close after dark though, so don't park here for Safeway or other stores.”

“National Colonial Farm is wonderful! What a great place to explore nature and learn how people lived in colonial times. I especially enjoy being part of the Stitch n' Time club, which allows fiber artists to make hand crafted goods from wool from the farm's heritage breed sheep. The staff is friendly, helpful, and accommodating - everyone from the gift shop cashier to the director. There are really good activities for kids and families and every weekend they have different events. My husband enjoys hiking there and using the farm as an access point for kayaking on the Potomac. Possibly the best thing about National Colonial Farm is that it is one of the best kept secrets in Southern Maryland. It's large, so even when there's plenty of people present, the atmosphere is still quiet and peaceful. Trust a local - avoid the hoards at Mt. Vernon and come to National Colonial Farm instead.”

“Great place, friendly staff if you have young children. Turtles, fish, crows, birds of prey aviary, snakes. Close to the playground. In the summer we park at the center, then hit the playground, carousel, miniature train and Old Maryland Farm then take one of the short trails back.”

“Very professional. One of the best artifact collections storage facilities I've had the opportunity to visit. I recommend a tour if you're given the opportunity”

“The only thing I do not like about this park is how secluded it is. Its a great place to practice lay ups, or walk the trail, while the little ones play on the playground. There are tables there if you want to bring lunch or snacks for the kids.”

“Trail connects to the WB&A Trail and runs right next to the railroad tracks. There are several offshoots of the trail that go back towards the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center.”

“New to the area. We’ve been to two different parks in the community. The parks are well kept and clean. There are multiple play structures and trails. It is a great place to take the little ones and enjoy the nice weather that is hopefully coming soon.”

“My local park with 2 play structures - one for 2-5 year olds and one for 6-9 year olds. Four swings, 2 for little ones and 2 for older kids. Two pavillions next to the play ground and running water restrooms located between the playground and the tennis courts. Two tennis courts with lights, two full size soccer fields, two baseball diamonds, two full size basketbalk courts and a football field with lights. There is a community center stone building with two meeting rooms. Best of all at the end of the park road is a boating ramp with access to the large reservoir (boat licences required).”

“Nice lake but people need to practice catching and release. I'm tired of seeing people walk off with buckets of undersize fish. Its B.S. Enjoy your time at the lake. Release fish clean and let them be there for the next guy who brings his kids down to enjoy a nice day the lake”
